If you're having trouble with all games, it might be related to your GPU drivers. Update them, or if they're on the latest version, uninstall and try an older driver version.

Okay, I'm seeing a similar thread here on SF, and updating DirectX fixed it. Try that.

It says

"A most recent or equivalent version of DirectX is installed. You don't need to do any install procedure."

Have you by any chance disabled DEP before this error started occurring? I'm going through threads I can find on Bing, and so far it was either GPU drivers (most likely), DirectX (you already figured it's actually not), disabled DEP (check on that)... or reinstalling 7 from scratch...

Update.. some applications work, others get the same error.. now I'm reinstalling graphic drivers..

Gornot, what is DEP?

DEP is data execution prevention. It's a feature built in the OS that prevents damage from viruses.

Let's check if it's turned on:

Right click the Computer icon and go to Options. Click the Advanced system settings on the left sidebar, switch to the Advanced tab and under Performance click on Settings. A new window will open so switch to the Data Execution Prevention tab. DEP should be turned on for essential Windows programs and services only.

At this point I'm thinking either DEP had somehow been turned off, or there is corruption with some of the system files. I was already gonna suggest an sfc /scannow command in cmd, but the fault module in the first post points to only the actual game .exe
