Hello Guys, very sorry to everyone who gave me brilliant help on computers and what to get, my mum totally ignored that and decided to choose between a Sony or an Apple.

Now I'm wanting to know witch would be best to get out of the two. Or if anyone has any preferences to the apple to the Sony and why you would pick on and why you wouldn't pick the other.

She's not really bothered about the price.

The sony VPCL21S1E (VPCL21S1E, VPCL21S1E/B.CEK) : Technical Specifications : VAIO & computing : Sony
VPCL21S1E £1,499.00 or £1,524 with 3 yr guarrentee "as the man was very friendly."

The Apple
27-inch: 2.7GHz

iMac 21.5 or 27 Inch - Buy a New iMac Direct - Apple Store (UK)

Sorry if i'm wrong for posting this as I know Apple has nothing to do with Windows 7...

Why don't you get the best of both worlds?

Buy an Apple, and then use Bootcamp to run your Windows applications on it.

The Apple will give you tight integration with iTunes, iPod and iPad and the iPhone, but of course it is more expensive and won't have a lot of the goodies the Sony will have.

If it's any help to you, my grandson bought himself a 21-inch iMac for its looks and reliability, but within a matter of weeks used my old Windows Vista disc to install Windows under Bootcamp because, in his words......."I miss the flexibility that Windows gives me."

Flip a coin. Both are comparable hardware-wise, so comes down to which does she prefer; Mac OSX or Windows? Both are essentially a non-portable laptop built into an good sized LCD, to the point that the motherboard and the rest of the hardware inside it is laptop parts.

Also who is going to be her go-to guy when problems arise? If its you, get the one with the OS on it you're comfortable with.
