I have a couple of folders from my htpc mapped on my desktop pc and accessed through the network. For some reason, the sharing is not working any more. "you do not have permission"

So the obvious solution is to go to the HTPC and set the shares again. Here's where it gets weird.

If I left-click on the folder I want to share, it says "share with - nobody". I run down the context menu and click on "share with - homegroup read/write", but immediately it goes back to "nobody"

So then I click on "share with - specific people" and "homegroup" is in there with read/write permissions

In properties - sharing - advanced sharing, homegroup is set correctly also.

I dont get it. There are other folders on the machine I can access from the desktop, but this one remains inaccessible, even though the permissions are correct.

I also dont understand why it says "share with - nobody" when in the permissions properties "homegroup" is set

Can anyone shed light on this?

OP, what Operating Systems are installed on each PC, including any Service Packs? The only Spec listed in your 'My System Specs" is OS: XP/Vista...In any event, for ease of sharing, make sure each PC has the same admin acount with the same password, then remap your drive...

Maybe try adding NETWORK to the ACL of the folder and set the appropriate permissions??
