Hi,

Recently I have found that when I attach an USB drive to my system I have to go into "Administrative Tools -> Computer Management - Disk Management" and manually change the 'Drive Letter and Path' for the drive.

Does anyone know how to get Windows to assign a drive letter to the USB drive automatically?

Could it be there are conflicting drive letters? Assign the drive a letter like R or T, and see if it is remembered.

I have this issue on some systems at work that map a network drive to H. The USB drives will sometimes try to grab H as well. If you remap the USB drive to another letter, as mentioned above, you should be good from that point on.
