Solved Asus and 3770k OCing

As i recall you use Task Scheduler to fix that nagging Asus error

It shuts that whole damn thing down for good you just have to delete it from there after you have uninstalled it that was a fix i picked up on at some website forgot which one though :geek:

I'm still using Asus Software since i have no real probs with it, just for monitoring.

In task manager looks like all Asus tasks execute in compatibility mode for Vista...

I noticed that too which isn't bad but i am not going back on the OS unless it's a test system I have 2 copies of vista laying around :geek:

I swapped all the Asus task scheduler to "Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2", then it had pending few minutes and all went in a working order.

Rebooted to search events log or a crash...none.:)

I recon it's quite tearing me apart with that Asus AI Suite II that have few process services running in the background and have a good part of memory consumed.

It does remembers me discuss about all bloatwares brands do insert in OEM PC, though!

IMHO The software is for people with not so much knowledge of Bios Adjustments a-e Overclocking or fixing memory this programs offers just that to pretty much Noobs it has benefits and drawbacks but in some cases the drawbacks out weight the benefits i mean you get a sh*t load of centigrade errors and you are with in temps but still errors out that is one of the most annoying to start

Now when you uninstall it there is a chance you get this error message on Boot ASUS exe missing yadda yadda bs and then it's another hunt for some drivers that simply won't go away when told more like malware then software my virus scanner always tries to block it too so that is telling me something

Well, i'm still considering myself little as a noob in overclocking manners. :)

The thing that i'm aware now, is that i use Bios settings only and not touch the AI Suite II setting to Auto Tuning & boost the all thing, as it provide setting i do not want Aka: BCLK Frequency (MHz) running just too high!

That's the dangerous setting i see in that software, if you're not very aware person in OC'ing, you'll fried quickly the motherboard & components in 24H/7. Auto Tuning was made for temporarily Overclocking and then have to be reseted when finish using it.

I admit to being a noob when it comes to overclocking and sometimes I want that extra 30% or so from my i7 2600k. I rely on AI Suite II for that and generally don't find too many problems. If I did it myself I probably push the CPU into shutdown! It occasionally gives silly error warnings but they only seem to occur when running another sensor measurement program. I also use the AI Suite FAN Xpert to customize my fan speed curves.
I haven't noticed it using much memory (~10M at the time of this post).

Yeah i do also use the FanXpert+ tab.. i tried also Speedfan but it didn't convince me.

Asus AI Suite II have more than one process in services.msc.

Others processes Asus such:

"TurboVHelp",
"Network Service Help",
"Asus Motherboard Fan Control Service",
"aaHMsvc",
"atkexComsvc",
"NetiCtrlTray",
"EPUHelp",
'Digi+ Power Control Help",
"Alert Helper",
"Usb 3.0 Boost Service",
"Asus Routine Controller",
"AsAutoHide",
"AiChargerPlus Application",
"AsSysCtr Application".

That's about fifteen processes running for one Suite.

Crossfingers as none have crashed since first start.:zip:

Just a note, overclocking doesn't seen to help with day-to-day performance in anything. We've discussed in in the Overclocking section. Some notice program will open slightly faster. It hasn't helped with graphics rendering.

OCing a GPU is a different thing though, should have mentioned that. I don't do it since I'm no gamer but the guys report smoother and better gaming.

IT can vary a lot with each chip, but I think it should be in the 1.12-1.25 range.

Nothing harsh, just open up CPUz and see, use Intel Burn Test to get it goin :)

A 4.4 OC puts me at 1.28 Volts

ok so i should be good at stock if not lower voltage then.

what LLC setting should i use? medium or high or extreme?

Try all settings and run stress tests, monitor your voltage, use what is stable at the lowest.

What the best thing for you to do right now is figure out stock voltage period

Turn around put your LLC on med then move up a couple clocks and see where it goes then add +5 volts more and test just like everyone else is saying you don't need much but you need to figure stock voltage first

Once you figured it out move up a couple mhz at a time i would say this chip on auto already hits 3.8 so imagine that voltage +15 volts more you get what i am saying you move in 5's so move up the volts +10 or more once you cross 4.0 and test and then 4.2 wouldn't be to far off you need to just try it out we handed you enough material to get a grasp already

and remember change turbo ratio and cpu ratio
