Intel Mobo for 3770K

whats up guys?

so i found a i7 3770k on microcenter for $250. so i think my next upgrades will be i7 3770k and an Asus mobo after i buy a car lol. but anyway, im looking for a mobo.

i want asus, and i want USB 3.0 header, and some decent OC ability. any ideas oon what comes to mind? i DO NOT want to spend over $180ish

now last time i swapped mobos, i had to reinstall windows. is there a way around that?

reading the gaming performance reports, the difference in FPS between my CPU and the highest end i7 is at most 5fps and thats only in 1 game. most games its a difference of 2fps. so this upgrade is going to take a long time i suppose. im not in any rush for it.

....which is good that i read that. other wise i would have dumped $450 into a 1% performance increase in games....aka where i keep trying to improve my performance...

Technically, yes - but it's far easier to reinstall.

You need to remove every chipset driver, reg entry etc that relates to your mobo. Chances of missing something and causing future issues are very high. Even I wouldn't bother and would go straight for a reinstall.

Plus you'll still have to re-activate your copy of Windows.

This will do it but reactivation is still necessary. The advantage is all of your installed software and your data will remain. Check Kari's post #583 for some extra tips.

I could of sworn i told this guy that many times that it's minimal difference in frame rate when gaming is concerned i really don't know what he is trying to accomplish

Have you considered Crossfire or Sli if you are looking for frames chuck another card in there you will be with the elite without buying a whole new rig

Looking at your sys spec i would upgrade to a sabertooth 990 and 8350. Then a crossfired 280x, or even a CFVFZ/9590 and crossfired 290x's like my current build.

tbh, i think im going to wait till my rig poops out and then ill upgrade. or ill just wait till the parts i want go on sale and drop a bit in price. then ill buy them 1 by 1. my setup is fine for a few years...

Whatever socket you go with, 1155 and Ivy Bridge, or 1150 and Haswell, don't discount the Asus Sabertooth because of the price. You never regret buying quality components.
