Asus audio driver overrides Realtek driver control panel

I own/have owned 3 different asus motherboards and asus apparently has proprietary audio software that overrides the realtek driver. I have even installed audio drivers from an asrock disk and it still loads the asus control panel. No matter what i do, i comes up asus. How is this possible? Asus has buggy software and sometime requires as many as 3 different programs. I just want a simple realtek driver with an EQ.
Where is this coming from? Is there a registry setting to kill this? At my wits end. I have seen the same problem on their Z97, Z170, and even Z370 and I'm tired of the nonsense. Please help.

My ASUS ROG Maximus motherboard has the custom panel. Must be built into the sound chip as I see no way around it.

I'm using the Realtek driver direct from Realtek site.

I still think it's a registry setting for the control panel. I uninstalled the sound drivers from my maximus VIII hero. I have a flash drive where i copy all of the motherboard disks i have acquired. So, i installed the audio driver from my Z97 pro gamer motherboard which had supremeFX. It works and brings up the Realtek control panel but it does say asus in the lower left hand corner. Eq works. Only problem i have no sound from the front headphone jack. Rear speaker outputs just fine.

Yes, I met George once. His former Band Manager and backup singer is retired and lives about 20 miles from me.

they're "hardcoded" into the realtek audio drivers (based on realtek chipset & hardware ID), regardless of where you get the realtek audio drivers from (either MS Update Catalog, realtek web site or pc manufacturer - in this case ASUS) - there is NO reg hack nor modded file that will override the "look" of the Realtek audio control panel app

here's a pic of the Realtek HD Audio Manager with a customized ASUS look (on a friend's ASUS m5a78l-m le/usb3 board)
