I have had my Asus laptop for about 3 months now and I have been continually having issues with the sleep and hibernate functions of my laptop. My computer goes to sleep/hibernates fine but whenever I try to wake it up it looks like everything is going fine for about 10 seconds or so and then it freezes and turns to a blue screen and says something about dumping my physical memory (I assume it means ram?) and then it restarts itself. If anyone has any advice it would be much appreciated.

There's a fix provided by microsoft recently, when laptop resume from standby (S3) will leave a short blank screen before enter the session...you'll have to click the mice or keyboard to enter, otherwise it could stay idle on a blank screen.

It may not apply directly to your problem but it is worth a try...

Let me time to search in my previous post, then will post it here.

Thank you for responding. Well I tried to download the hot fix and when I finally get it to the installation point it says that the hot fix is not applicable for my computer. well darn. I have allready tried to update my motherboards drivers before now but I guess I'll look around for some more recent ones.

Did you check if it was x86 or x64 patch?

It did works well for me on a x64 win 7 platform.

Maybe restore/reset all to default your setting in Power Plan.

Hooray you fixed it! All i had to do was download the hotfix for x64 instead of x86 and it worked! I didn't realize there was an x64 version. I had to go back and request that one instead. Thank you for your help my computer now sleeps and hibernates peacefully without any errors when I wake it up. I will give you credit for the fix! thank you to everyone who suggested a fix.
