ATI Driver BSOD???....The Sequel, please help!

I have run system file checker and its has returned after 100% with 'Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations'. So thats fine.

Run driver sweeper, strangely AMD Display does appear on the main list (which would indicate old ATI drivers), but when i analyse it, nothing is actually there. So i'm guessing there are still remnants of ATI files still on my computer.

Start in safe mode and check for ati folders.
C:\ati
c:\program files\ati
c:\program files(x86)\ati

If anything is still there just delete the entire folder.
There is a trick for the registry entries too, but I'd rather see if just removing the files doesn't sort it first.

Ok

Went into safe mode, looked for any remnants of ATI Radeon drivers/files. There were none of the folders/files you suggested. Nevertheless whilst still in safe mode i cleaned all all NVidia drivers, restarted in normal mode then fresh installed latest NVIDIA drivers, hope this helps.

Two small queries

1) does the pic of my blu screen i posted a few posts back reveal anything?

2) Early in the thread it wsa suggested it could be a sound problem. Weirdly on my device manager the Nvidia HDMI Audio is appearing 4 times over, is this right (screenshot attached)

1 - no it's just a standard irql driver failure thing, doesn't really point out the specific cause.

2 - much to my surprise, apparently it is, as my system shows the exact same thing (gtx580)

if you are not using the integrated(VIA), I would completely disable it for the time being too.

I keep my integrated disabled unless I am using my headset (front panel uses integrated)
Doing so also got rid of a tiny little buzzing noise in the background when volume was high.

The bad news is that it didn't fix the problem and a BSOD just happened whilst playing Skyrim. The good news is that the latest Blue Screen pointed to specifically to 'dxgmms1.sys' which seems to be a widely reported problem.

My feeling is that somewhere I have a very old driver that is nothing to do with my graphics card/display drivers but for some reason is conflicting with it.

Do you still need help determining which driver?

• An underlying driver may be incompatible\conflicting with your system. Run Driver Verifier to find any issues. To run Driver Verifier, do the following:
  
  a. Backup your system and user files
  b. Create a system restore point
  c. If you do not have a Windows 7 DVD, Create a system repair disc
  d. In Windows 7:

  • Click the Start Menu
  • Type verifier in Search programs and files (do not hit enter)
  • Right click verifier and click Run as administrator
  • Put a tick in Create custom settings (for code developers) and click next
  • Put a tick in Select individual settings from a full list and click next
  • Set up the individual settings as in the image and click next

  • Put a tick in Select driver names from a list
  • Put a tick next to all non-Microsoft drivers.
  • Click Finish.
  • Restart your computer.

  
  If Windows cannot start in normal mode with driver verifier running, start in safe mode. If it cannot start in safe mode or normal mode, restore the system restore point using http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/700-system-restore.html OPTION TWO.

  If you are unable to start Windows with all drivers being verified or if the blue screen crashes fail to create .dmp files, run them in groups of 5 or 10 until you find a group that causes blue screen crashes and stores the blue screen .dmp files.​
  The idea with Verifier is to cause the system to crash, so do the things you normally do that cause crashes. After you have a few crashes, upload the crash reports for us to take a look and try to find patterns.
  
  When you are ready to disable Verifier: Start Menu -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Right click Command Prompt -> Run as administrator -> Type the following command and then Enter:
  verifier /reset​
  -> Restart your computer.
