lol haha.. as i said there has to be a way to get in just read the very first screen that appears when you start the computer. You may have to do it very fast.

Try F10 or F1 right at startup.

it tells you in the first screen as the pc loads up. it can be a problem if your monitor has a sleep mode that the first screen goes by faster than the monitor can power up. Note: generally pressing wont work, you should hold the key as it starts up to make sure it is pressed when it checks.

if your pc has an AGP slot you are better off using that. For your generation of pcs AGP was one of the first dedicated slots for graphics cards and gave more power and more bandwidth than PCIx1. It was only much later that PCI-E came out with speeds of x8 or x16 that left AGP behind forever.

The spec that said the cards needs a 4 pin 5V adaptor: That to me says that the board cannot supply enough power alone and so the card should have a second connector on the card itself to directly connect to your psu. If you don't plug this in, I guarantee it wont work.

That sounds like one of the first generation of cards which started to really kill power supplies. You should be able to get a power supply for cheap: these days the supplies go into the 1000W range and higher as some graphics cards pass 400W just for the card alone, 300W is very little and there are a lot of 500W PSUs which are good value.

Nope, it ain't no such thing. I browsed the AMD site and looked for those power things where I should plug the PCU cables, but I haven't seen anything similar on my video card. Also, here are some pictures of it:

Nevermind what I said about the 350 watt minimum, sorry. That was for 9550 HD not, ATI 9550.. which is an old AGP 8X card w/ 256mb ram. You should meet the power requirements fine.

You must be certain that you are inserting this card in your AGP slot which you will probably only have ONE of. And you must FIRMLY press down to secure it in.

It's plugged in. Anyway, it it wouldn't, I wouldn't see my screen right now and I wouldn't probably post this. I secured it firmly in. If I connect the monitor to that blue socket in ATI, my monitor will work in VGA. But if I put it in that default blue socket on the motherboard, the monitor is on sleep mode and won't start. Another strange thing, huh?

Anyway, IF I'm not gonna get it fixed, can someone please help me make my signature pic show up? I mean, I made one in Photoshop that's 600x100 pixels and I uploaded it and nothing went wrong but when I press the preview sign button I see a blank thing in the Preview tab. :P

the blue socket on your motherboard will not work if you have the video card installed. You have to remove the video card for the motherboard blue (vga) socket to work.

I can't make out what you are saying in the last post. Is the 9550 installed and showing video? Is it still giving you driver problem?

you should have at least 3 connectors for monitors on your pc. One on your motherboard: when you plug an external graphics card in this one will deactivate. Two on your graphics card: one a 15 pin d plug (rgp connector) the other the more square DVI connector. You should be using one of the two on your graphics card, which are you using?

The card is not installed, but I can't still see in VGA without the reboot problem. The Card has 3 sockets: a blue one, which I am using, a white one and a black round one.

The Rage Card has 1 slot similar to the blue one, except it's black. Though, without the 9550 in the AGP and the monitor plugged in the Rage is the only way to start the PC when they're both inside. If I plug the monitor in 9550 when Rage is in, the monitor won't boot. If I remove 9550 the monitor won't boot either. But I have fixed my reboot problem by unistalling the Video Card. Now I'll be living in the VGA 'til I get enough money to buy myself a new Video Card... But though thanks for all you posts guyz. Good night

But in the end, what's the cause for all these stupid things: Is is my PC or is it those 2 stupid video cards? I mean the Rage2 works perfectly on my old Pentium2 Win98 and here it won't even install saying that "Device File Information Missing/ Enhanced drivers were not successfully installed/ Setup aborted. I tryed to revert myself to the old VGA where some crappy 3D games worked in the past. But no, I get just a stupid 640x480 4bit(16 colors) screen and the Video Controller installer pops out but it can't install. Works fine with the ATI 9550 not installed and plugged it as I'm in an unusual VGA. I tryed to install the goddamn ATI 9550 with the Original drivers that I downloaded and with the Omega drivers either. But I still get the black screen and everything works fine EXCEPT for not seeing anything. Guess I'll have to remain like this till I'll buy a new one. By the way, do you guys think I can get like a medium-quality video card for about 50€ (63$) ?

Ahh, forget about the stupid ATI Radeon 9550. I made myself forget about it. Now I have another problem. The old, crappy, stupid ATI Rage II doesn't work properly. It was a desperate call since the 9550 doesn't work and VGA really sucks. It's a temporary thing since I'm gonna buy a new one when I get the money xD. But until then, I will use this.

Here is my problem: I plugged in the card below the ATI 9550 in the PCI slot(they work in symbiosis). I downloaded and installed the drivers. After I ran the installation executable I installed the driver and after that, the Device information file missing poped out. I don't know exactly what that means, but it ain't good. The card's 2D part seems to work since I can play better games with 2D graphics, but the 3D part does not work. I can't play any 3D games or applications, not even google earth. I know, that sucks, but it's my last hope. I'm hoping that you guys can help me fix it.

Hellow?

Well, anyway, after some research, I discovered that the Rage no longer supports Direct3D, just DirectDraw. And that's odd, cause in my old PC it did work fine. Any clues about what's causing that?
