hi

in the past 24-hours, my windows system tray has alerted me that my anti-virus software was turned-off (obviously, not by me, not intentionally...I use avast), that my windows 7 [home premium, build 7601] was not genuine (it absolutely is!..came with the computer, and only ever has been updated through automatic microsoft windows update), that my malware program was not updated, and again that my avast switched itself off again (after confirming it was on).

I've ran multiple full system scans, including something called bootkit start-up something-or-other, and researched noting that the microsoft fix for the erroneous update on 10-dec-2014 that triggered genuine thing was resolved by appropriate rollback (I forget the exact microsoft KB numbers, but it checked-out).

am I under attack? what gives, and how to arrest it?

thank you
-patrick
