This seemed to be a very frustrating issue for me.
When I turned on my computer, everything is working fine.
But oftentimes, after a couple of hours (4-5 or more) of turning on the computer,
a sudden X mark will appear on the Audio Icon in the taskbar at the buttom right.
When you hover the mouse right there, it will say:
-No Audio Output Device is Installed- (i have VIA HD Audio Deck) sound drivers
And there is an error when you tried to play a music in media player
nor do any audio related applications.
It says No Audio Output Device is Installed.
(if this issue will happen again in my pc so soon, i will post the exact message here)
When you Left-click the Audio Icon, it will auto troubleshoot.
Sometimes it will fix the problem, sometimes not.
My computer is in a deep freeze state though.
About this issue, a simple restart will autofix the problem w/o doing anything.
Either in Freeze or Thawed State,. I found it frustrating because i got this issue
after I bought my new Board ASUS M4N68T-M-LE-V2, this did not happened in my
EMAXX board w/c is cheaper, so im thinking that this might be a board problem..
some threads like this is about webcam proper installation/compatibily issues.
In my case, I also have a cheap webcam here that might also be the cause.
But I dont know because this webcam is working fine together w/ the built in MIC.
I havent investigated yet about troubleshooting this issue in lined w/ the webcam.

In addition, this issue will happen when my computer is in an Idle state but
I havent encounterred this problem happened when im doing something in my computer.

If you really have an idea that could solve this problem,. I would really appreciate it.
For now, a simple restart will always autofix the problem but im afraid time will come that it will not solve the problem anymore so Im doing all possible ways to get rid of this frustrating problem as soon as possible,.

Because my Last Resort for this, is to return my Board to where I bought it and have it replaced with a new one since this is still under in a Product Exchange Warranty Period.

Hello, ferdiebacalso

I had a similar problem. I do not have a cure, but here is a workaround which is easier than a reboot.

Go to Control Panel / Sounds. Select a unused item and than click " Register " Than click on the default
sound device and again click " Register " In my case this makes the red overlay go away from the system tray icon
and makes audio work properly.

Not a cure, I have no idea what causes this, but beats a reboot.

this problem is solved now,. what i did is i disconnected the Mic in my webcam and connect it when needed only like doing video calls., maybe because my webcam is cheap thats why it causes static sound on my Speaker when plugged,. but for now,. no more problem,. ^_^
