Started happening recently. A couple months back I installed the Realtek drivers with the HD Audio manager and a couple week ago it started getting fairly bad especially when I was Skyping and watching Youtube. I reinstalled the drivers and this time it didn't install the audio manager and it got somewhat better. Now it just does it when I have multiple tabs open or on Netflix for the first 10 seconds or so. What is causing this and how can I fix it? It started doing it on Spotify just now and it's also been doing it when I record gameplay of NES ROMs on Bandicam. Very annoying. Also, I'm hooked up to the TV through HDMI at pretty much any given time, don't know if that helps.

The Spotify thing may have been because I had two tabs open and each had a YouTube video on pause.

There are many things that can cause this. There is no "one fix" for the problem. Wi-Fi is a known cause. Video and Sound drivers are another. A bad power supply can contribute to it, etc.

Too many applications/tabs open can contribute.

Sound is on a shared IRQ (Interrupt) with a higher priority device. The higher priority device can cause momentary pauses in the sound that can sound like stuttering.

The Realtek drivers should be used and the Realtek HD Audio Manager is not the cause.

Take one thing at a time and see if you can isolate what is causing it. First step, be off line and try to play a known good sound file on the PC and see if it stutters. If not then add in the wi-fi and see if it stutters, etc.
