Mysteriously, the audiodg.exe service seems not to run in the active processes as a result of which I could get sound. When I try to run the process through new task option , it loads up and immediately disappears.

What do I do? Other audio services and everything seems fine. It used to run on same machine with the process on.

EDIT :I tried sfc scan, and it found no problems with file.

I find that audiodg.exe runs on my two computers as long as there's a need for sound output. If there is no sound to be played for a while, the process closes. As soon as I play any kind of sound (Windows system sounds, Winamp, a movie, game, etc.) the process comes right back.

So what you're seeing is normal behavior unless you're actually expecting to hear any sound and aren't getting any.

Yes, I'm not getting the sound that's why I'm getting bothered about it.

Windows auto troubleshoot for audio problems couldn't fix it. When I start my PC in safe mode, It shown audio not running and when i try to turn the audio service on in SAFE MODE it shows error 1068 : On or more dependencies fail to start ..

Won't work in safe mode. What if you try to start it in regular Windows?

I told you already. It's everything. I had not changed any of the settings since it was playing well. When I look at the Playback Devices option there I test the audio, it shows the bar filling/moving normally, but still audio doesn't comes up.
