Help, running windows 7pro 64bit recently changed from 32bit. since then i cannot get a complete backup using windows system backup. only partial ones. error message is 0x80070017 data error cyclic redundancy check. tried 4 times all with the same result the amount of data backed up was just a small amount. tried several things nothing has worked. i have two internal drives same size c and f. f is only used for storage all else in on my c drive.f is a ntfs primary partition with 100% free space. do i have it formated correctly? would a external drive with some other software make a difference. hope this is enough information to give y'all some ideas for me.
Thanks,

Snick, could you also suggest a reliable external hard drive as well. i have two internal WD's. Also would there be any problem using another backup software with what ever you suggest?
thanks.

"...would there be any problem using another backup software with whatever you suggest?" If you mean using more than one backup / restore program, there will be no problem at all. At home, for both laptops, I use Macrium Reflect and Image for Windows. I make the DVD and USB boot sticks for each one. Obviously, you pick the two you want to use.

Google external hard drives more reliable and cheaper per GB.
Seagate has a few

We recommend AOMEI Backupper free, there is also AOMEI Backupper Pro and key listed on SevenForums
or Macrium Reflect free.
I downloaded aomei pro, used key works awesome.
AOMEI is a little more user friendly in my opinion

Snick
