Hi Folks.

Just a quick question for you. I am looking for a decent backup program for Windows 7 that will allow access to a HP USB tape drive to replace the Microsoft backup:sarc:.

Twice now I have created a backup using MS Backup and I can't get it to recognize either Tape drive or a Western Digital Network Drive. It will recognize USB External drive or local drives.

I am using Windows 7 professional. So if anyone has any recommendations can you please let me know.

Thanks in anticipation. :D

I am not sure about tape, but Acronis is flexible, cheap (there is a free trial) , and backs up files and folders to external and networked drives. It also allows you to restore a single file if needed.

If it's only files and folders that you want to backup then Cobian backup maybe worth a try (It's what I use to backup this sites servers and it's free) Cobian Backup

Thanks Guys, I will give Cobian a try. I tried Acronis previously on XP and it would not recognize tape drive, and when I wrote to Acronis at the time they stated that the product did not support tape drives.

But thanks for your reponses anyway.

Regards

Steve
