Battery Stops Charging in Windows 7

I have had problems once or twice with my battery, but not for a long time. I installed Windows 7 a couple of days ago and twice today my battery stopped charging even though it was plugged in. The first time it said it was plugged in but not charging. The second time it said nothing. Both times, I rebooted and it resumed charging. So, I am suspicious that this is a software problem and not a hardware problem.

Is the battery fully charged? On my laptop, if my battery needs to be charged and I connect to A/C, it will charge and when it's full, the battery icon has an X over it. If my battery is good, and I'm connected to A/C (for instance, resuming from sleep), it shows fully charged with no X.

My battery is fine and is now fully charged. The point is that it stopped charging twice, and I think it's Windows 7 which is at fault. I'll wait to see
if other users report a similar problem.

Hello, I have a similar problem!
Battery doesn't charge while playing Shogun 2 Total War
When I start the game, my battery won't charge. It only does on loading screens (when I enter or end battle).
My laptop is Acer Aspire 8942G, Win 7 HP 64.
It looks like the game blocks or conflicts with my charger when I play it.
Once I switch tabs, the battery starts to charge again.

I would be greatful for any peace of advice how to fix this background charging problem.
