Begin screen saver when lock computer

Hello, it's possible to windows immediately initiate screen saver when I lock'im? (WINDOW KEY + L)? No matter how many minutes I put to initiate the screen saver. I want that it begin immediately after I lock windows. Just like GNOME does.

I don't think its possible - try choosing the password option when the screensaver is interrupted and set the screensaver interval to 1 min.

yeah, but this is the first thing that anyone will think. And was the first thing I thought. But I don't want that. I don't want to use screen saver unless I block the computer.

That's right. But I don't want to see it when I am using the computer, so I put 20 minutes for the screen saver start.

If you cannot find this key, do a search ofSetScreenSaveTimeOut in HKEY_USER.

Don't forget to reboot the machine after u set this.

what are you trying to do with this?
This steps are the same thing of I open the 'preferences' and set screen saver time out to 0.
Is nothing about my doubt.

if there is any shortcut to run screen saver, it will really solve my problems.
I just will enable the option 'on resume, display logon screen' and press the shortcut.

You can change it to 0 but then it reverts back to 1, which is 60sec. The registry change is one sure thing and it worked but only once lol. Seems like w7 has someone watching and reverts things back to normal.

Thing is screensavers are for for all sessions not just locked screens. Perhaps a third party software can do what u want.

what about the shortcut that I asked? anything? something like WINDOW KEY + <somekey>

It's in C:Windows\System32 i think.

Not work, because the screen saver starts. But do not lock the computer. Apparently is not the screen saver that locks the computer, but windows itself. As I suspected.

I didn't say clicking the screensaver would also lock your screen. If you want the shortcut to act as a lock screen and activate screensaver, then i think that's asking abit. I'm outta ideas though...and it's bedtime

Simple solution is to create a standard short-cut to the .SCR file that you are using as a screen-saver (these are actually just .EXE files), and use the standard keyboard short-cut option to add a keyboard short-cut.

You can pin the shortcut to the desktop, the taskbar, or the start menu

By setting the security to ask for password on resume you then have a lock short-cut that starts the screen-saver

It's easier to do than to explain

Here's an example that uses the ribbons saver and Ctrl -Alt - L

::initiate screensaver of choice
"C:\Windows\SysWOW64\GPhotos.scr" /s

::lock the workstation

As I can see, you are a windows guru.
When I create a shortcut and when I try to set my shortcut KEY, when I press WINDOWS KEY + S the system automatically changes it to CTRL + SHIFT + S. There Is any way that I can create customs shortcuts key with using WINDOWS KEY? thanks.

The standard short cuts are defaulted to the control + alt combinations and without using a 3rd party option I think that this is fixed
