OK so we agree sealed water cooling has come a long way and is the accepted best way short of a full water loop of cooling in challenging conditions and otherwise. I have used Corsair, NZXT and Thermaltake sealed loop water cooling and have (2) of these. I can tell you at $70.00 usd this is a steal and a must order if you're ready to place an amazing 240mm rad in your system. ENJOY !

Exactly it's a money swap and when you factor in the quick pay which normally cost 3-5 dollars then your net cost will hover around 75.00 not including the tax on the purchase. I've never been burned on any MIR deal but it does mean waiting for all to process and card be sent via mail then apply it towards some other purchase.

I've had problems three times with mail in rebates. One time, the outfit tried to refuse the rebate because I had bought the product on a Saturday, the last day for the rebate. When I received the product, the receipt was dated for Monday but did show the product was purchased on Saturday. When I received the rejection, I sent back another copy of the receipt with the purchase date circled, suggesting they reconsider. They did.

Another time, I hadn't received the rebate after three months. A complaint to the BBB woke them up.

The last time I had a problem with a pokey rebate, I was able to get action by threatening to report them to the BBB and, if that didn't work, the State Attorney General's office of my State and theirs. That got results.

Since then, I avoid rebates whenever possible. I will not base a decision to buy a product on the alleged savings of a rebate. If a rebate is offered, I will go for it but, if I do get screwed out of the rebate, I won't be as upset since I wasn't counting on it.

Sorry I should have added "Mail in rebate" since I'm such a stickler on using abbreviations. Y'all can slap me.

I see no real reason for rebates needing 4-10 weeks and more to be received by the buyer. I used an ASUS "quick rebate" at an additional cost, it still took 39 days to get to me. I also don't buy based on the chance of a rebate but do fill them out, byt the time I get one, I've forgotten why.

Oh, there is a real reason for it. They count on people being attracted to the product by the rebate, then forgetting to send it off, not following the rebate directions causing the rebate to be voided, or being too intimidated by the hoops that have to be jumped through or just don't want to bother. The 4-10 weeks is time they can use your money interest free. It may not seem much but the constant flow of cash going in and out of the rebate centers (most companies, if any, don't handle their own rebates even if they appear to) results in a huge balance that they can earn interest or dividends from.

No matter how you slice it, consumer rebates are a racket.

You do have to be smarter than the rebate clause and a little patient but I'm batting a perfect average with well over 100 rebates filled. I of course prefer my savings at check out but also enjoy any savings I can land.

I have always looked at rebates as a scam. I do use them at times if it's worth my time and frustration. I have two $20 rebates coming from Sapphire...we'll see.

I honestly Think mail in rebates are rubbish I have mailed many to receive maybe one or two if that

I wish they would quit that crap and just give us the deal straight up after all the wait time postage and work hours to just generate a stupid rebate they have wasted more then gained

I hope in the future if they want to discount something and offer ad rebate they should do it in store and give the store credit for the customer buy not the other way around

They should make the Egg or any other seller that has rebates give it to you right then and there and the manufacturer should deal with who sold it to the customer that would stop the waiting game because the

Company would have to wait for Asus msi or who ever to pay them for it that is how it should be

That may be (although I think the upgrade was to make Rapid available to the existing 840 Pros) but $110 for the existing $840 Pros is a smoking deal. I'm half tempted to get one for a spare for the one in my desktop (the cheap half of me doesn't want a drive knocking about idle, burning warranty).

Out of curiosity, I took a look at NewEgg. They have been selling it for $140 but now they have the price hidden, as though its a smoking deal that they aren't allowed to advertise (I always felt that was a load of rubbish). I had them email the price and it's still $140. Big whoop!
