I see two problems that could affect anyone, not just an anal old broad like me. One, it has more places for dust to get in then the Titantic had for seawater after its somewhat less than casual encounter with that large ice cube. Two, how the big, fat, hairy heck does one hook up the HDDs to the power and data cables with that blank panel in the way? I didn't see a backplane in there or any way to get the cables in there.

I saw the pictures in the original link. There are all kinds of openings to let in dust and let out enough air to make positive pressurization impossible to keep out dust. They also don't show how to connect HDDs to their cables since there is a solid panel behind them.

Edit: I found this review with even better pictures. The case is leakier than I originally thought. The review ignored the problem of how to connect cables to the HDDs but it shows there is no backplane so I'm guessing you have to pull both cages out to deal with the cables. Not very impressive.

Edit 2: I finally figured it out. The trays are designed to hold the HDDs with the connectors toward the latch end. One would have to be able to pull cables completely out of the way to be able to pull out a drive. I am not impressed.

Looks like you slot the drives in from this side (Right Hand Side of case) and the connecting wires run across to wherever on your MB. This would be fine for me as I don't live where you do and have the desert dust. I do have a cat (Shadow) but fortunately even though I am allergic to cats he is not a great shedder.

More and more cases are made that way now. In the past with hard drive mounted that way you had to remove both sodes to swap drives. Now you only have to remove one side. Cyrrent Phanteks cases have dust filters for every opening. Mine gets minimal dust in it.

I will hopefully make the swap in a couple of weeks or so once the humidity levels go up (to reduce static issues; it's bone dry here right now and I can't walk 12" without generating enough static to light up Phoenix).

True, you only have to remove one side but you also have to move cables out of the way to be able to get the drive tray out.

Yes it has filters but there are leaks around the fans over the filters. Also, the back of the case has a lot of unfiltered openings. What I can't understand is why on earth case manufacturers design a built in fan grill that is larger than the bloody fan. It was the same with the Corsair 650D I've been modding, only not as bad as the Phantek.

I don't believe I stated that was a perfect case for all to buy.
I do think this case has a lot of possibilities for a #100.00.

I know of no dust proof cases unless one does like Jeannie does and makes it dust proof.
I have incorporated some of Jeannie's dust proofing in my case and will do some more when I get all the things I have ordered.
I'm going to re do all the cabling.
Add two more 140mm case fans.
That will give me 7 140mm fans blowing in and 6 120mm fans blowing out through a 360 radiator. That should give me a positive case pressure. At this time I have no idea whether this will cool better or not because the system runs cool now. Can't hurt. My cpu is running 10c over ambient at the present time.
Add a 5 1/4 hot swap sata for two ssd's. This is just a want not a need.
Hell the whole system is a want and not a need.

Will do. I have StarTech external ssd holder I use on eSata and usb 3.0 and it works as advertised so I stuck with that brand.
With that I'm getting another 120gb Intel ssd.
When the day comes I thinking of having 1 internal ssd with Windows 7 and one hot swap ssd with Windows 9 and one hot swap ssd for backups.

When I get done it will be time to spruce up my 600t Corsair that has a i7 960.
I need/want to find a proper self built water cooling system for the 600t.

Yeah, makes me want to puke. My first 64GB Crucial M4 was $139 but I forget where I bought it. Here's a 128GB one though.

If it makes you feel any better, often, when a popular computer component has been discontinued, speculators will snap up the remaining stock, sit on it a bit, then sell them at horribly inflated prices. Then you don't feel so bad for having bought early before the price had gone down.
