I'm thinking about replaying Skyrim but want to mod it first, but there are a shed load available.

I'm looking for some HD mods, textures or any graphic enhancements.

What mods do you guys suggest?

I haven't done a lot of mods but the one I do have and find very valuable is Dovakiin's Warehouse and Bedroom. Especially if you have a lot of gear and stuff lying around and want to display. Or if you need to craft or buy and sell stuff - Steam Workshop :: Dovakiin's Warehouse and Bedroom

The other recommendation is the Dragonborn DLC and it allows or more leveling and other perks.

I really enjoyed this game and have over 500 hours in :o

Capture.JPG

The reason I don't have all the achievements is because I either blew some of the quests off, or killed them off where I didn't get the achievement - example I never became a Werewolf.

Anyway this is a great looking game, especially if you get the high res texture pack released by Bethesda. It will definitely look good on your system.

You could check out my thread on the game here - http://www.sevenforums.com/gaming/198691-discuss-skyrim.html

Enjoy :)

A lot of work to do it all this way, but have a look here. He does have a nice list of good mods and tips on how to make patches etc.
User:Neovalen/Skyrim Revisited - S.T.E.P. Project Wiki

My Personal must haves... SKSE, BOSS, WyreBash right off the bat.

In graphics, theres tons of textures to choose from. But The No Stretch and SMIM are must haves IMO as a base.
For armor and wepaons, Ive been using and like Immersive Wepons and Immersive Armors. And Book of Silence are good retextes of Armor and weapons.
Also, Automatic Variants is nice. More variety in what creatures look like,.

SkyUI and Categorized favorites for the UI. Huge help for me.

For gameplay,
ACE Overhaul (w/OPtional alchemy removed file) Theresalso a Immerive wep/armor patch if using those.
Phitts Alchemy
Duel Combat
Frotsfall

If curious, heres my mod list Im currently running. Everything except the Texture overrhauls are here.,
Some of the patches I made though.

Some excellent stuff here. I'm subscribing this one.

Thanks Jessie, that's a big help.

Has anyone used the nexus mod manager beta? Or manual still the way to go when mixing a few mods?

Yea I use it and it works well for installing.

Whats good:
It keeps track of everything and rolls back changes.
Lets say you install 2 texture mods. Texture Mod 1 install. Texture Mod 2 asks to overwrite a couple files and you say yes. If you decide you do not like Tex Mod 2, Uninstall and it rolls back to the files 1 installed.

I would suggest using it over manual install. It's a huge benefit when a mod has several files and you want to uninstall it.

The bad (And this could just be me) are the Read Me additions they made and Im not crazy about the categories. But I like plain and simple so others may feel differently.
To me its just extra stuff that's not needed.
But, I have my own method of renaming and organizing mods within the manager, even though the naming scheme probably only makes any sense to me. :)

Yes. Unofficial HD Patch fixes that issues. Im not positive if beth ever did TBH.

Personally, I don't really use the official one. Ive made my own texture pack which is a mix of many others. There's a lot of goods ones, some actually much better than the official one.

The downside is its takes a bit of time checking them all out, and grabbing just the bits you want to keep to make your own. But that thread I linked is a pretty good start on mixing up a main texture overhaul.

I would just share the one Ive put together since its all together and optimized. Basically its the complication already optimized and put together from the link I linked above. But with some added ones.
But ... Its just over 1GB in size and consists of other peoples work. Multiple HD mods. Not sure what the rules are for that kinda thing

didn't bethesda release a high resolution texture pack? i remember installing it one day and certain objects would turn purple, so i uninstalled it.

That purple issue was in the game way before the Hi-Res texture pack was released. In fact it was there even before patch 1.2 was released...

- Purple issue - http://www.sevenforums.com/gaming/198691-discuss-skyrim-6.html#post1672440
- Patch 1.2 - http://www.sevenforums.com/gaming/198691-discuss-skyrim-23.html#post1681001
- We even had gold - http://www.sevenforums.com/gaming/198691-discuss-skyrim-37.html#post1696898 – this is after 1.2’s release.

At any rate the texture pack didn’t have anything to do with the purple issue as it was there before.

strange, i only saw purple when the HD pack was installed, but it looked similar to the last post you linked on Arniel Gane, but it was wood chopping blocks and those wooden spike barriers which are found at the entrance to Fort Greymoor

The "purple" issue was a bug discussed in the bug list prior to the first patch. And it could happen anywhere in the game. The fact that you experienced it after you installed the HD pack could have been purely coincidental.

Anyway the "purple" issues were reported as far back as Nov 2011, Bethesda's High Resolution Texture Pack was released in Feb 2012 - The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim on Steam

I've got the Macho Man mod. It was actually one of the first Skyrim Mods released. I don't use it anymore, but it will have a place on my HDD as long as Skyrim does.

If you want truly Hardcore go with Deadly Dragons and Enhanced Mighty Dragons with both at maxed out settings.

The Monster Mod is also worth it if you can dig it up. It's not available on the Nexus or Steamworks, a google search can find you a copy of it though I think. Adds tons of creatures, including dinosaurs. There's a Triceratops in this screenshot from my game, and I've run into several others, including a T-rex.

I also like Deus Mons as a player home, it puts a huge castle on the side of High Hrothgar for you. You do have to get past the castle's Dragon guardian if you want it though. He's leveled, so it's never too tough. If you want the most epic cheat available for Skyrim, the Leveler's Tower mod. It puts a tower right outside of the opening dungeon exit that has cheats for everything, a super set of armor, and item, dragon soul, experience point, money, soul gem, and enemy generators.

I've beaten the game about six times, so I don't mind using it on occasion rather than grinding.

Also, why would you use the HD pack from Bethesda? Just go to the Nexus or Steamworks and DL better textures. The HD pack doesn't even come close to the quality of the various mod packs, and you can texture a lot more than what it does.

I have it disabled, they say you don't need to anymore, but the game is more stable without it if you're modding textures. I'd remove it, but Steam would keep putting it back if I did, so I just leave it and disable it.

If you can run them, check out Vert's Flora, the Water Mod, and Climates of Tamriel as well. HD Ice and Hectrol Spiderwebs.

Of course, no mod list would be complete without Caliente's BBM, [naked barbarians], Better Males, better hair and faces, and the MLP mods.

You cannot escape the bronies. Nothing is safe from them.

Climates of Tamriel has it integrated into it. Yes, it is awesome, and should be used if you don't have a mod that doesn't integrate it.

It only has a lightning mod integrated into it, but it is not an ENB.
I have COT and Project ENB running together.
