Ok but

TuneUp utilities is prefect and it is like the little brother to windows 7. They harmony. There are no keys that it deletes when you don't want that and it describes in detalis what the key is and witch apps are using it.

I thank you all for your answers and you help.

I have another question but It has nothing to do with this topic

If you feel the utility is serving a purpose don't remove it. However If you find evidence that it's not serving a purpose, remove it.

With regards to tune-up utlilties and tweaks, there are a lot of back and forth opinions on which work and which don't. It's up to you on which ones to choose and use, or not use. Just do your research.

I personally don't use tweaks/tune-ups, but that's me.

That is what I was thinking stormy13. Trying to repair this computer with programs like that running would be futile. IMHO Windows 7 doesn't need, like, or want such programs.

The reason many still want to use such programs and tweak a lot is because that is the way with older operating systems things were done by many. When the OP does a little more reading on this site and others sites like this one they will be convinced that Windows 7 doesn't do things the old way. There for doesn't need or like these kinds of things. It's a learning curve.
To me those programs are snake oil and I have no problem calling them that if it helps some one here.

By the way, I may have missed it somewhere, but it seems that no one has told you that "standby" basically means free RAM. The ram is not being actively used, but it is waiting patiently for when it is needed immediately.

Your RAM is running normally, Standby and Free are basically the same thing, ready to be used when needed.
When you add 2Gb RAM to your system you will see some Free RAM.

It is generally accepted that registry cleaners are not needed with Win7, some people choose to use them and that is their choice.
CCleaner is the most recommended, but if have one you like then by all means use it.
Just be aware that any issues such as "why is my PC running slower than earlier?" very well may be due to the registry cleaner deleting something it shouldn't have.

you want to tell me to uninstall tuneup utilities 2010???

Why ?

Its not true that win 7 dont needs any tuneup programs because it found many registry problems and cleaned them up, so why do you mean thy windows 7 dont needs any tuneup programs?

Dino I will answer your question and you are not going to agree with my answer. It is definitely true that Win 7 does not need tuneup programs. Here is my sermon on this topic.

Windows is a closed source system. Developers of registry cleaners do not have the core code of Win 7 and are not working on definitive information, but rather they are going on past knowledge and experience. Automatic cleaners will usually have to do some guesswork.

Modifying registry keys incorrectly can cause Windows instability, or make Windows unbootable. No registry cleaner is completely safe and the potential is ever present to cause more problems than they claim to fix.

My advice for the average computer user is DO NOT use a registry cleaner. If you do not have knowledge of the registry, then you are far better off leaving it alone, and definitely not placing blind trust in a program to do the job for you.

Registry cleaners cannot distinguish between good and bad. If you run a registry cleaner, it will delete all those keys which are obsolete and sitting idle; but in reality, those keys may well be needed by some programs or windows at a later time.

Registry defragger programs are a myth, too. They might trim the registry size by 8-12MB; but will not improve operating system performance. In fact, your programs’ performance will decrease.

Win 7 does not need a registry cleaner. Forget all the "wisdom" you learned about XP. Win 7 is not XP and does not manage the registry the same as XP.

Win 7 is much more efficient at managing the registry than previous Windows versions. If you are very knowledgeable of the registry, you can use Ccleaner to delete keys left over when uninstalling programs. However, these few keys will not make 1 millisecond's difference in performance. If you run Ccleaner or any other registry cleaner and do not know precisely what you are doing, you will have problems down the road. There are no gains to be had from using a registry cleaner and the risk is great.

Are registry cleaners necessary?

Back up the registry

Why I don’t use registry cleaners

Windows 7 is a totally different operating system than XP. Win 7 is not an evolution from XP. It is a totally new OS and even changed from Vista. Thus the wisdom we learned about XP - tweaking, cleaning, modifying for speed, etc - do not apply at all to Win 7. Forget that knowledge.

Windows is a closed source system. Developers of tuneup utilities and registry cleaners do not have the core code of Win 7 and are not working on definitive information, but rather they are going on past knowledge and experience, most of which is not applicable to Win 7. Automatic cleaners will usually have to do some guesswork.

There is almost no tweaking that can be done to Win 7 to speed it up. The system is designed to diagnose itself and take care of itself which it does remarkably well. Win 7 maintains itself and that includes the registry.

Tuneup utilities are pure snake oil. At best they do nothing except use resources. At worst, they can mess your system up, slowing it down, and even crash it. There is no tuneup utility out there anywhere that can speed Win 7 up and improve its performance, at least not at this time.

This isn't to say that the system does not need to be maintained. Uninstall programs that you don't use, delete unneeded and unnecessary files. Defrag your hard drive. But don't screw with the registry unless you are an in depth expert in the Win 7 registry.

We have seen the adverse effects of tuneup utilities and registry cleaners and registry defraggers in the Crashes and Debugging Section. Most of the time, the cure is a clean install. Using a program such as Ccleaner is fine to get rid of old and unnecessary files. A tuneup utility is not only unneeded, it can actually harm your system. Don't use them.

As for Tuneup Utilities 2010 I use it just for the desktop basicly icon changes and boot wallpaper change

I don't use it to clean the registry cause i havn't seen any issues that would need that besides it is a optional program it truly isn't needed unless you have a purpose for it

Like everyone else i would agree it really doesn't help with registry issues it might look like it is helping you but eventually you will have to sort it out again and again pretty much being redundent

I learned to eliminate most registry issues less uninstalling programs and making sure you got every piece of driver material off the system that is what cause registry issues pretty much debunked programs that were uninstalled incorrectly

there are many programs you can use to prevent registry corruption but sorry to tell you tuneup utilities isn't one of them more like a visual compensation then peace of mind just my two cents
