I tried using HP BIOS Flashing utility on my HP Z400 Workstation, and it says it can't continue because I have Bitlocker enabled, but I don't have bitlocker on Win 7 Professional 32bit. I don't see it on the control panel or in context menus. I do see it set to manual in "Services" but the service in not running. Is there a way to find drives Bitlocked or are my drives being treated as bitlocked because of my antivirus program AVG? :shock:

In the services window is there and option to disable or turn off...there should be. Just change the startup type from manual to disable and reboot. Then try your BIOS update.

Generally, flashing the BIOS is unnecessary unless it resolves a stated issue you are experiencing.
Just an FYI.

If you need to update the BIOS, the following should help;

Disabling BitLocker Drive Encryption is a temporary method for removing BitLocker protection without decrypting the drive Windows is installed on. Disable BitLocker if you need to update the computer’s basic input/output system (BIOS) or startup files. This precaution will help prevent BitLocker from locking the drive and can help avoid the potentially lengthy decryption process. (Enable BitLocker again when the update is complete and you have restarted the computer.)

To turn off or temporarily disable BitLocker;
Open Bitlocker Drive Encryption by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking Security, and then clicking Bitlocker Drive Encryption.* If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
Do one of the following:
To temporarily disable BitLocker, click Turn Off BitLocker, and then click Disable BitLocker Drive Encryption.
To turn off BitLocker and decrypt the volume, click Turn Off BitLocker, and then click Decrypt the volume.
HTH

As I said before Bitlocker is not listed under control panel nor do I have Security listed on my control panel (I'm using icon view).
I did switch Bitlocker to Disabled it in the Services list, the error still showed up but I performed the update anyways and it went through.

Thanks for the help

I hadn't noticed before, but in the icon view "System & Security" don't appear. They do in the "Category" view. I don't use "Bitlocker", but I am curious, does it show up in the list if you view by "Category"?

Nope, I don't see it listed in Category view either.
