Hello, I have a drive that I'm trying to retrieve data from and I have the recovery key. It's hooked up to another Win7 64 bit OS and while Windows sees the drive, Bitlocker CP doesn't and therefore is not asking for the recovery key to unlock it.

When I double click it in explorer it just tells me it needs to be formatted.

When the drive was in its own computer, it was stuck in startup repair. Diags returned a HDD error code but I was still able to unlock in natively to run the startup repair.

Any tips or workarounds here or is the hardware damage preventing me from unlocking it on another computer? The only reason I haven't tossed it is because I am able to unlock it when booting from it using the recovery key. So why won't it let me when it's hooked up to another machine with Bitlocker?

Thank you! That is what I needed but unfortunately it quit half-way through due to sector errors. RIP Seagate hard drive.
