Solved Black screen when starting up

I get a black screen when turning on.

If I keep hitting del, it goes into bios no problem.

Yesterday I turned it on and it went to the desktop no problem. I cannot remember how many attempts it took but I do remember repeatedly pressing the reset switch.

The monitors light is orange right now. It turns green when a picture loads up like bios mode etc.

Why is it giving black screens? I'll keep hitting reset to see if I can get it to load windows.

Took a few tries reseting pc.

Now it loaded fine. Green light on monitor.

I don't know why I get black screens.

Question

I have an Asus motherboard coming in few days time to replace my faulty Msi motherboard.

If i replace my faulty motherboard (mb) with a second hand mb from ebay, can i load a disk image iso file (previously saved with installed apps) onto second hand mb?

Or would i have to install fresh version of Windows 7?

You can do an image but if the hardware is a lot different it may not work the only way is to try

I don't remember how I made the iso as it was years ago. I got to check if I still have it also. Might have just used the window u features to create it but cannot remember right now.

Yes the Asus z97 sabertooth mark 1 is on its way.

Question/Troubleshooting time

Just swapped the msi mb for an Asus z97 board.

Connected everything up and there is no power/no noise 😔.

However I noticed a solid green light bottom corner of the z97 board.

I believe everything should work.

I think I have gone wrong somewhere when I connected everything together.

Maybe I didnt connect certain things properly.

I have solved the problem. Power is on and everything is working now.

That msi board was awesome until the sound/mb died out on me.

Is 600w power supply enough for

4790k cpu
Z97 sabertooth motherboard
980 ti ftw gpu

I have a 650w psu coming today but I may return that back now that everything is working.

Another question

My ram specs are now

Capacity: 16GB (2 x 8GB) KitDIMM Type: 240-Pin NON-ECC UDIMMVoltage: 1. 5VFrequency: PC3-12800 (1600MHz)Timings: 9-9-9-24

Do I have to make any changes in bios, xmp maybe?

I wold say that 600W is good enoth if you don't overclock.
What are the power specs for the 980 ti ftw?

PC3-12800 DDR3 is nominal frequency (1600MHz), not overclocked so it should be no XMP option
