Blank pages print after Windows 7 upgrade

I upgraded my Dads computer to Windows 7. He has an HP Photosmart C5280. After doing the Windows install the printer printed fine out of Word so I didn’t install any additional printer drivers or software.

Now he can’t print from Internet Explorer. It prints a header and footer but nothing on the page. If I pick “print preview” there is nothing showing on the page. The printer seems to be working fine from everything except IE.

I downloaded and installed the latest printer driver from HP but that didn’t help.

I have the same model printer and it works fine in Windows 7 for me.

Cross fingers, hope and try Tools>internet options>advanced>reset. You will remove all addons that can be causing the problem.

Have you done an "inplace upgrade" or a "clean install" ?

Already did that; it didn’t change anything.

In IE8 you have a small icon at the top for printing. Click on the arrow down and click on preview.
Shrink to 50% and see if you see what it is you are trying to print.
If it shows up there and you can see it then go ahead an print it.
Sometimes the setting are wrong and this could be you problem. IMO

Try this: Highlight the part in the IE window that you want to print. Then hit CTL+P and check "Selection". Then try to print.

WHS...That was going to be my next suggestions as we both are on the same track once he responds.
