About 2 weeks ago i started having sleep issues. It used to work perfect for over a year, I figured something went wrong and couldnt get sleep to work consistently. Thought a reinstall might fix it.

Now on the new install, about a week. I am still having issues. Sometimes the computer will wake in the middle of the night around 330am and other random times. Also sometimes the computer powers up when coming out of sleep but monitor doesnt come on. I installed the updated drivers for mobo, video card. And disabled the network from being able to wake the computer (something I actually want on). I also tested with stock speeds on mobo, cpu. Same issues, have also tried stock with increased voltages. No luck.

What should i do its driving me crazy?
I remember seeing a way to see a log of what caused computer to come out of sleep? Since I just reminded myself, I will go and check all connections inside computer.

hi!
try this link it should help to explain:D

Sleep and hibernation: frequently asked questions

I dont really need basic information about sleep. I need to figure out why my compter isnt sleeping correctly, IE not turning back on after sleep sometimes. Even though it has with the same hardware for more then a year.

And I have already tried disabling things from waking computer.

anyone know of a log or how to log sleep info? Things like what is sleeping correctly, what is not waking properly ,etc.

Well i found one command, powercfg –lastwake

this told me why my computer was awake right now... and im happy it is lol (recording finale of Lost, but stupid computer doesnt know its not today i guess...).
Edit: well i guess it is today lol, smart computer

This can give me further investigation. But still would rather have a nicer log.

Running "powercfg -h off" in an elevated command prompt worked for me, and also removed the pesky hiberfil.sys file which I could not otherwise remove. I'm using an ATI/AMD Radeon 7790 and depending on the driver version, I get a wide range of sleep/wake problems. Currently running 13.11 Beta7, as it seems to have the best PowerCore implementation, saving me 10-20 watts at idle: and because the aforementioned trick works under said version (haven't tried it in other versions.)
