Blue screen and black screen HELP

Hey,i have a windows 7x64.Yesterday while watching videos my screen started jumping and crashed to a blue screen with(QPR is not less or equal i think) and after that i restarted and it came with other errors.Now when i switch on the laptop it only shows black screen with no option to do anything.PLEASE HELP

Cannot even copy dump files because now all i get is only black screen when i switch on

Do you get the Lenovo logo at all? If not, try a BIOS hardware/software reset.
  1. Shut down and turn off the computer.
  2. Unplug the computer from the wall or surge protector (then remove the battery if it is a laptop).
  3. "Remove the computer from any port replicator or docking station, disconnect
    cables to printers or devices such as external monitors, USB memory sticks or SD cards, headset or external speakers, mouse or auxiliary keyboard, turn off WIFI and Bluetooth wireless devices." (Use Hard Reset to Resolve Hardware and Software Issues HP Pavilion dv5000 Notebook PC series - HP Customer Care (United States - English))
  4. Hold down the power button for 30 seconds. This closes the circuit and ensures all
    power from components is drained to clear the software connections between the BIOS
    and hardware and clear any corruption in the temporary memory.
  5. (If it is a laptop, plug the battery back into the laptop and then) Plug the computer back into the wall. Do not reconnect any unnecessary peripherals; monitor, keyboard,
    and mouse should suffice and be the only peripherals reconnected.
  6. Turn it on to reinitialize the software connections between the BIOS and hardware

Thanks.Now i get it and i did memory diag tool which says,Ramdisk device creation failed due to insufficient memory.I have 4GB RAM

Do you have one or two RAM modules? If two, remove one and see if you can get further. If the one module does not work, try the other.

Also, make sure you hard disk is properly attached to the system. To do so:
  • Shut down and turn off the computer
  • Remove the AC Adapter
  • Remove the battery
  • Hold down the power button for 15-30 seconds to close the circuit and drain any residual power
  • Remove the panel on the underside of the laptop where the hard disk is housed
  • Remove and re-insert the hard disk by sliding it away from the connector and then gently but firmly pressing it back into the connector (no screws should need to be removed to do this step)
  • Replace the panel on the underside of the laptop to cover the hard disk
  • Replace the battery
  • Replace the AC Adapter
  • Turn on the computer and see how it responds
Post back once these steps have been implemented whether the system is stable. Sometimes these problems can occur due to a loose connection.

:DThanks a lot.I removed one of the two modules and it has been stable for over 6hours, it used to crash within 15 minutes.It seems removing one module solved the problem, though i am not sure weather the root of the problem was the slot or one of the modules.Anyway, i can live with 2GB RAM,thanks again

You're welcome. You can test the RAM modules by doing your normal routine.
  1. Shut down and turn off your computer.
  2. Unplug all power sources to the laptop. Then remove the battery.
  3. Hold down the power button for 30 seconds (for your safety and the safety of the components) to close the circuit and drain all power from components.
  4. Remove the panel for the RAM.
  5. Remove all but one memory module making sure you are grounded while doing so.
  6. Replace the RAM panel and put the remaining memory modules in a safe, static free environment.
  7. If the problem persists, repeat steps 1-4 and move the memory module to another slot (while staying grounded, of course).

Do this until all slots have been tested. If all slots fail, the memory module may be bad. Test with one of the remaining modules. Continue one module at a time in one slot at a time until you find a good module and good slot. Test remaining modules in the good slot, test good modules in other slots to find bad slots, etc.


Test by doing your normal routine in Windows for twice as long as it takes to get a crash or until you get a crash, whichever comes first. You can also test by doing the tasks that generally cause crashes.


The above is up to you. If you are happy with 2 GB, then you do not have to do them. :)
