Blue Screen of Death - Laptop

I think that is the 3D vision controller driver from NVIDIA, is it not? I uninstalled that on purpose and I had BSOD's even before I got rid of it. But if that is what was causing the BSOD's then maybe I should reinstall it.

I can't run memtest at the moment because I need my laptop for some work.

EDIT: Do you guys think it is indeed a hardware issue? :/ I think it's some driver messing up but idk. I am not an expert and know nothing about BSOD reports.

Well....I just booted up my laptop an hour ago....it ran for like 20 minutes and everything just froze on me aside from the mouse. I could move the mouse, but whenever I clicked either to close or open something that program or whatever just froze. That pretty much happens right before I get s BSOD usually. So I restarted and ran startup repair, it found nothing wrong and I booted up again. So far no BSOD for a half hour.

Seriously wtf is going on with my laptop. I need it for work mainly so this is seriously not cool. I appreciate any help anyone can give me and I am sorry for the double post.

P.S I checked the temp of my laptop using Core Temp and the cores never go above 60C even after a long gaming session. I also went into driver manager and deleted the NVIDIA Stero Controller as of 5 minutes ago.

Yeah so, basically I would get a BSOD within 5-10 minutes of booting up. So I just used tha ASUS recovery thing in order to restore to how it was when I purchased the laptop. The BSOD's went away for now but considering past experiences, it will start back up again soon. I noticed that the BSOD's started to occur very, very often as in within 5 minutes to an hour after boot after I installed SP1 and some windows updates.

This is really annoying.

Hi there,

As suggested run the MemTest86+ atleast 8 passes (over night) so we can rule out memory problem.

I think I have no choice but to do so. I will run it later tonight and report back when it's done. Fingers crossed it isn't a hardware issue :( As this laptop I bought the last week of November so it's relatively new.

Alright going to start memtest soon. Hopefully all goes well, I don't think it's the RAM but it's better to rule that out for sure.

Ughh. Got another BSOD an hour ago. Here is the log. Here is the thing, right after the BSOD whenever I try to boot up, I get stuck on the windows logo for maybe idk between 6-15 mins. Eventually it starts up, especially after startup repair.

Alright, here is one of the latest BSOD's I have been getting. I took this picture a few days ago before I did a recovery via Asus recovery and it restored stuff to how it was when I first bought the laptop.

I am guessing the problem is ntfs.sys?

I have gotten 1 BSOD since the recovery and that's what my post before this one included. I find that after I do a fresh recovery via the Asus recovery EMI thing, I can run without a BSOD for a few days and have no issues, then once I get that first BSOD I get it maybe once a day or more and sometimes if I am lucky every other day.

Here it is. I don't have CC cleaner or anything like that, and I will run disk check and seatools as soon as I can, which is probably later tonight or tomorrow but eitherway thank you so much for the reply. These BSOD's have been driving me nuts.

BTW this report is from after I did the system recovery to it's original factory settings from Asus a few days but I have had one BSOD since the recovery. That BSOD that I included the picture of was pre-recovery so that was probably not too smart of me to do a recovery before I could get a report from that BSOD.

Hmm...well I ran disk check and it didn't seem to find any errors. There was apparently 12 kbs of bad sectors it said at the end, but it fixed whatever it found throughout the check and it wasn't much.

As for SeaTools HDD....I installed it and whenever I click to run it through the desktop shortcut I get a BSOD with the F4 error. Got it twice now right after clicking on it. When I boot back up, the icon has no picture and whenever I click on it nothing happens.

Running jcgriff right now.

I am getting BSOD's on a regular basis again. It's starting to piss me off. I don't think it's a hardware issue as everything works fine and the blue screens of death are random. I can go days without getting one and other days it happens very often. There is the rare time that it gets a BSOD in safe mode.

So can anyone help me please?

BTW I can't get a minidump because apparently it FAILS to do one. On the BSOD it says it is intiailizing it and then it either gets stuck at that part, or it fails and restarts. So I did a jcgriff. WTF is up with my laptop?

Thanks in advance.

P.S I don't think "ZoneAlarm" has to do with this, since I got rid of Trend Micro as far as I know, and my only antivirus type programs are Windows Defender and Windows Security Essientials.
I thought ZoneAlarm was installed on your system and it has been causing issues with Windows 7. . .

I am still not getting any memory dumps. Is there a Minidump folder in C:\Windows . . .?

I got rid of TrendMicro, I have no AV right now but will get security essentials. And my laptop doesn't seem to create minidumps. It freezes at the BSOD or fails with the error "physical memory dump failed" so there is no such folder like that there :(

So, you're telling me there is no minidump folder? If so, create one, name it Minidump and wait for a BSOD - see if it generates a dump this time.
