Solved Bluetooth Connectivity Problem

When I click Add a Device ....WWindows 7 Home premium cannot find any devices. It just sits there scanning bu never finds my bluetooth mouse or my bluetooth keyboard.

Additionally I get the following error when I look at my event viewer:
The mutual authentication between the local Bluetooth adapter and a device with Bluetooth adapter address (00:07:61:b0:45:14) failed.

I have tried several different drivers from my manufacturers website but all produce the same error condition.

Please Help!

Are you sure that the bluetooth dongle you have is windows 7 compliant?

It's built in bluetooth and it has worked in windows 7 before

So I just got off the phone with my system manufacturer and they told me that the only drivers available for my bluetooth hardware are written for windows vista. And that I will need to downgrade my system to vista to make use of my bluetooth mouse and keyboard. I love Windows 7 but given my experience with freezing issues and now driver incompatibility I am seriously considering downgrading my system to vista as much as I hate to.

I just looked up the keyboard and mouse on the windows 7 64 bit compatibility site and it says it is compatible and installs without any third party software

I am happy to report that I have reinstalled windows and everything is fine now
