Hey guys, im not the best with computers so bare with me lol.

I just bought a set of Bose Soundlink 2 wireless headphones and cant seem to get them to connect to my PC.
Im running windows 7, and when i select "Add a device" under the Bluetooth tap, it keeps searching for devices... and my headset keeps blinking in "pair mode" till they shut off. I can successfully connect them to my phone, and my girlfriends laptop which is running windows 10. Is this a common problem with windows 7 not connecting with Bluetooth headsets? Any help would be much appreciated, ive spend too much time trying to figure this out, and Bose support was no help obviously. Thanks again for any input, really would like to figure this out :)

Welcome to our forum tjessop.

Do you have your usb 3.0 drivers installed?
If not your motherboard should of come with a CD that has the usb 3.0 drivers.
Are you plugged into Usb 2.0 or 3.0?
Does your Bose head set need drivers?
Did your head set come with a CD or DVD?

Boot your PC and then plug in your head phone and see if Windows 7 picks them up.
If not, boot your PC and then plug your head phone in and see if Windows 7 picks them up.

Right tick on your volume icon (lower right) and select (Play Back Devices). Do your head phones show up there?

That is about all I can think of.

Thanks man :)

Already getting a little techy haha

- I do have usb 3.0 ports, not sure if they are installed?
- Motherboard- Asus Z87-Pro. didnt see anything in the box but some cables.
- I don't have the headphones plugged in to usb or anything, they are wireless/Bluetooth
- Bose headset came with no disk/ dvd, only a charging cable
- I will try and plug them in when i get back to PC and see if it picks it up through the headphone jack.

I did find a disk laying around thats labeled: Asus Driver and GPU tweak, if thats any help or the disk i need?

Hope this helps, thanks again Jack

Thr usb port dosnt have anything to do with the wireless headsets right?.I have faced this problem many times with some bluetooth speakers .One thing you can do is to update thr bluetooth device driver in your computer and see if it works or not

Yeah i dont think it has anything to do with the usb, since the headset it wireless/bluetooth.

I think its a driver issue but im not sure where to go. I updated the headset through Bose's website function and also updated the bluetooth drivers on my computer? (Generic Bluetooth Adapter, and Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator, found under Bluetooth settings->Hardware->Driver). It said both drivers with up to date and still having the issue.

I'm wondering if i need to download some separate driver like the A2DP Bluetoothprofile? or something like that. Again obviously Bose is no help, and i might try and call one of the distributor stores and chat with a employee. Thanks again fellas, still open to suggestions.

Cheers

Try this. Go to START icon and type in services.msc and select services.

The dialog box that opens has a long list of stuff but look for BLUETOOTH SUPPORT SERVICE. Double click to open. Make sure it is AUTOMATIC. Go to the LOG tab. Choose THIS ACCOUNT and type in LOCAL SERVICE. A list of password (a 15-dot string) would appear. Delete all the password in the PASSWORD and under CONFIRM. Choose Okay.

It will ask you to restart the service. Once restarted, turn on your bluetooth adaptor again. Put your headset in pairing mode and add it.

Unfortunately this didn't work either, I tried to re add the device and nothing appears in the Bluetooth window (keeps searching for devices) yet, my computer picks up my smart TV upstaires?. This was right after I restarted the service under bluetooth support services. Was i suppose to add the device some where in the support services window? Do you think its worth taking my tower down to the local computer store and see what they can do? Thanks Nihal

Welcome.I have come across this issue many a times mostly with bluetooth speakers and headsets.some of them connect easily while others just dont come up whatever you do .You can take it to a store if you want or else return and order another compatible model headset or buy a seperate bluetooth adapter

I just went out and purchased a IOGEAR bluetooth usb adapter from Staples, was only 20 bucks. now that i have that plugged in, it has seemed to pick up the headset now but needs some trouble shooting? Thersa an exclamation mark beside the headset icon in bluetooth devices. Looks like i'm half way there haha. never tried the hotfix yet.

Looks like its the "Bluetooth Peripheral Device" under Device Manager (which is the bluetooth adapter). There are warning signs beside the little icon, now i try to update the driver automatically but windows cant find anything. do i have to manually download this driver? or do some sort of update? thanks very much

Looks like i got rid of the warning flags and it shows the headset and bluetooth 4.0 adatper under Devices. Still cant hear anything from the headset? Realtek audio manager sucks! Also the "headphone" pictures looks faded in The Devices menu? like something is holding it out. Very frustrating, thought after this adapter it would be pretty easy, seems to connect to everything els fine but windows 7?? might just upgrade to windows 10, pretty ridiculous, sorry for all the posts.

I am not sure whether it is the bluetooth adapter or headset or both which needs troubleshooting.Either way you can go to the manufacturer website and download the required drivers and you can install it.This will solve the driver issues

Last thing, Under Devices and Printers is shows

"BCM920702 Bluetooth 4.0" and "Generic Bluetooth Adapter"

Seems to be bluetooth devices and they both have a "USB" icon. The BCM920 shows lit up, while the Generic Adapter had a warnign sign on it that it needs a driver update. Not sure if this is required since im using the 4.0? very confused lol hope all this helps. Thanks again man :)
