Two new behaviors just started today and I'm wondering if they're related.
I noticed my Bluetooth speaker would not connect to my PC after I had just used it the night before. I tested the speaker and the speaker itself can connect to other devices just fine. I tried clearing out my devices and trying to rediscover my speaker, but my PC can't find any devices -- not my speaker, not my cell phone, nothing. Rebooting doesn't help. I updated my Broadcom Bluetooth drivers to the newest ones and that didn't help either. I checked and Bluetooth services are running, my PC is discoverable, etc. I also have two different Bluetooth dongles and neither is working.
Also today, I discovered that when I try to shut down my computer, it stays stuck on the "Windows is shutting down" screen and it never actually shuts down. I'm forced to hold down my desktop PC's power button to get it to turn off.
I can't recall any changes I made to my computer, other than switching my audio recording preferences in the sound manager from mic to stereo and I downloaded a program called StreamTransport because I wanted to download some embedded media.
Full system scan with Avast doesn't turn up anything after updating virus definitions, although it appears on my first scan, Avast was terminated abruptly on its own before it finished, according to my event viewer. (I checked the event viewer because it finish suspiciously quickly when I had stepped away from the computer. Avast wasn't closed, the scan was just over.) I tried again and it got to 100% with no viruses found.
Any ideas of what could be going on? :sarc:
