Bluray disk integration using cyberlink PowerDVD or something?

Basically whenever i try to use windows media center to play a bluray disk, it automatically quits out of wmc and launched powerDVD, which is jarring and feels like a cheap hack.

is there any way to get bluray disks to lay inside wmc? thanks.

WMP/WMC does not support BluRay playback. Only DVD.

You can play the main movie only, by browsing to the MT2S stream on the disc, but may need something like AnyDVD or PassKey.


To play BD back as intended, without extra codecs or applications, you need a player that supports that format.




I thought Cyberlink had a optional WMC addon to allow playback from within WMC?
It may be a extra optional download ... or I may be thinking of something else like TotalMedia

Ahh Ok.
The only thing I know to do is launch from PDVD directly, or possibly upgrade.


I know thats not the answer your looking for, but I do not know of another alternative to get WMC to playback BD in its original form.
Hopefully someone else can offer better advice.


If you like Power DVD, and WMC integration is important, it may be worth upgrading.
If you simply do not like Power DVD and want something else, the only other good BD playback softwareI know of right off hand are:

Arcsoft Total Media & Nero 10HD.

Arcsoft also offers a media center plug in.
Nero does NOT, so probably not a good choice.

So of the the 3, Cyberlink or Arcsoft will be the best bet.

As mentioned, Cyberlink 10, or TMT 3 or above include MC addins.
