OK guys Ive just got my PC running again after installing a new SSD and removing 1 stick of bad RAM. I gave the system an overhaul, cleaned out the dust and applied some new thermal compound to the CPU. Installed the OS and it seems to be working fine, so far. So i swapped out the new SSD for the old SSD and it exhibits the same problem as before. I get to the Windows boot screen with the window and the spinning balls and it hangs and resets the PC. I had suspected the GPU originally but Ive eliminated that as a cause as Ive proven it will boot with a fresh install of the OS on a new SSD. Now I don't think the old SSD is faulty. I think the problem lies in that it is just FULL. I mean 100% FULL. I had been skirting around cleaning the SSD up and backing up some files as it was well into the red with only a few MB left before the 'crash'. It was a couple of years ago now but i remember that I suspected the Page file or maybe the MBR and i messed around with resorting the MBR etc but to no avail. I ended up cloning the SSD onto a larger SSD in the hope that would 'fix' the problem. Well its got more room now right :D OK I'm not that naive but had intended on making a backup just in case the Original SSD was failing. So i still have the Original SSD, the Backup SSD and the NEW SSD with a fresh install of the OS which shows the problem is not hardware related. No idea when the RAM stick went BAD but like i said its been a couple of years. Ive tried putting the original SSD into an enclosure and can access the files via USB but ideally id like to repair the installation but to date have been unable to do so. I worked at it on and off for a month or so, SO Ive exhausted the few things i could think off and the few things i found on the web which might have caused the OS boot failure, given the fact the SSD was at capacity. So whats my way forward ? I can retrieve saved game files documents etc and copy them over but that will be a time consuming and laborious task. Looking for some advice on what i could try next, either to 'fix the original SSD or to clone it or something so that the OS, Apps and all files and structures are still intact, just working instead :)

Basic question, have you tried safe mode? In safe mode you get a list of the files beign loading in realtime. Maybe you can view wich file is loading when the reset occur.

You can bring the boot menu pressing F8 many times very quick just before windows start loading.

Page File probably has nothing to do with your issue, you can safely delete 'pagefile.sys' and 'hiberfil.sys' from your root drive, must be very large and it will be recreated anyway if one day your computer boots normally.

Sadly I can't tell you much more about how to fix it. Cloning the drive it will probably just clone your problem. My advice is to start fresh with your new drive, copy as much as you can of your documents in your old drive, and install all your programs you had in your old drive in your new system.

Sorry, I didn't understand on what you need help.

Your profile says that you have 4G of memory. If you removed a stick, do you now only have 2G?

You cloned the old SSD (with no empty space) to the a bigger SSD. Does this bigger SSD works fine?
Did you resized the C: partition on it?

@Megahertz07 Since he is asking for help, I don't think the bigger disk clone worked.

It's a bit hard to read without new lines, here a better version:
