I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate x64 on a Lenovo G580 laptop and got a virus at some point. I decided to format the computer, wipe it clean and reinstall Windows 7U x64 using an ISO on a USB stick. The laptop had no space and the GBs were maxed out and it required some space so I deleted some files off the C Drive, I'm not sure if I accidentally deleted some vital files but now my screen is just black and says "BOOTMGR is missing Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart". When Ctrl+Alt+Del is used it of course takes me to the manufacturer screen that has the F2 and F12 options. I've tried selecting F2 and switching the Boot Priority Order in Boot Setup to the USB that has the with Windows 7 ISO but that does nothing. I've tried resetting defaults, nothing. I've tried Shift F10 for command prompt, nothing.

I need help bad! The black screen of death, lol.

Hi doodleeleven, welcome to the Forum.

If you were going to format the C drive & reinstall Windows you will lose the existing OS. Your Post is confusing as you say there was no space & the drive was maxed out. Is this the C drive.

It seems that your USB Windows 7 ISO is faulty & doesn't work. Does your laptop have a DVD drive & do you have a Windows 7 Ultimate DVD or can you borrow one.

It seems that a full reinstall is necessary.

Thank you for the welcome Ranger 4

Hi Ranger 4,

Thanks for your response. I'm wondering if I can burn the ISO to disc and maybe the computer would recognize that better? I purchased the ISO download with keygen online, and actually before I cleared some space the OS install did start so I'm pretty sure it's legit.

I didn't actually format C drive but did deleted some files, i'm guessing important ones. Damn.

Thanks again,

Doodle

Did the laptop came with win 7 U 64 or you did installed?
Do you have a backup of your data files? If you do a clean install it will delete ALL partitions.
How did you make the Win 7 U 64 USB flash installation disk?
Once you able to boot from the Win 7 U 64 USB flash installation disk, try fist a boot repair.

OH OH...
Your Win 7 is pirate. This can also explain the virus.
It's against the Forum rules to help with pirate. Sorry.
My suggestion is to do a Factory recover from BIOS.

@ Megahertz07 - Nah, the Windows 7 has been installed and in use for about 6 years, virus was more recent and not associated with the OS. Thanks for your input. :)
