Bootup problem, 2 choices come up

Sometimes (randomly) I have the following problem with bootup

Here is the scenario:

Computer is normally turned off. Then next time when booting up, it gets restarted during the spinning Windows 7 logo (which is shown before the Welcome page).

Since it automatically gets restarted it offers a page with two choices:

- Start Windows and let it try to fix the problem (it is advised)
- Start Windows normally

There are 30 seconds to choose from the above list, but unfortunately the first one is the default one, it is automatically chosen after the 30 seconds are up. Unfortunatly no dump file is created which could be investigated.

If I dont notice it and it automatically chooses the first one, then it is never able to fix the problem, all it can do is putting the computer back to an earlier restore point, which is bad.

Anyway the thing is that when I get this list and I choose Start Windows normally, then it has NO problem booting up properly.

So any of the following solutions would be good for me:

- Start Windows normally is the default one so after 30 secs it would be chosen
- Do not even offer this let me fix the problem page and just start windows normally again

So how can I hack the registry or anything else to reach any of the solutions above?

I suggest starting all troubleshooting with the following diagnostic tests. They'll save you a lot of time and heartache if there is a hardware failure, and you'll have the disks on hand in case you need them in the future:
H/W Diagnostics:
Please start by running these bootable hardware diagnostics:
Memory Diagnostics (read the details at the link)
HD Diagnostic (read the details at the link)

Also, please run one of these free, independent online malware scans to ensure that your current protection hasn't been compromised: Malware (read the details at the link)

Hi usasma!

Thansk for the links. I executed the memory test for a few hours, I had 8 passed and 0 errors. The Hard drive test did not show any problem either. Nor the malware tests.
