I windows 7 64bit
the dvds drives have worked fine in the past, but to be honest recently i have not used them.
Few days ago i upgraded the RAM from 4gb to 8gb. At first it did not work, some disk read error. Then after removing, replacing ram module and replacing it seemed to work.
So now I have 8gb ram but both dvd drives will not read discs.
They both are working and open/close tray works. I place windows 7 installation dvd in drive and it shows a disc tih full 3gb used up. but its not identified as windows 7 dvd NOR can i see the contents. I placed a standard music cd in both drives and it wont le tme access it.
BAsically i cant access any discs using the dvd players.
I have tried using the microsoft fixit toll and it says there are no problems.
I tried the uninstall driver and reinstall.
Any ideas why this would happen.
