Brand New, Windows 7 Issue

I just bought this about two hours ago. If even that long. & it seems that when my built in webcam is turned on if I don't take pictures routinely it logs me off. It only happens when the cam is on. Is there a way to stop this? I'm trying to play around with the options and what not but its quite difficult to do when the computer keeps logging my account off. Its Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit. Its made by HP. The box says "Pavilion dv5. dv5-2074dx."

What do you mean by taking pictures??? What program are you using your webcam with as well?

The name is "HP Media Smart Webcam." I mean, if I consistently take pictures through the webcam like maybe one or so a minute, it wont turn off. But, if I don't, if I'm just browsing via the mouse through the webcams options and what not, it will log my account off. I am inclined to think this is something similar to the idle feature that Windows has but I can't see why a single program would have its own idle time and why it would come pre set to such a short time and since I'm moving the mouse durning this time, it doesn't seem like it would idle out..

Go into msconfig>Startup and uncheck the webcam. Then you can just start it when you want it. http://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-debugging/70248-troubleshooting-msconfig.html

While there, you can uncheck everything except AV and gadgets/stikynotes if you use them. You may need to reconnect using Win7's own Wireless manager in bottom right system tray, but not using the HP Connection Manager bloatware will save you startup time and CPU/RAM.

HP's are larded with bloatware, driving many tech enthusiasts to find a clean copy Win7 installer for their version to reinstall without the bloat.

Until then, use Revo Uninstaller in Advanced mode to remove programs you don't want, including whatever bloatware monster AV they put on there. Use lightweight free MS Security Essentials instead. http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/

Revo will run the WIndows uninstaller for you, but when it prompts you to restart, instead click Next on Revo to Delete leftover Registry keys and files listed in Bold.

When finished, run http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1538-sfc-scannow-command-system-file-checker.html to make sure the bloatware hasn't damaged System files.

Then clean and order your HD perfectly with free state-of-the-art CCleaner and Auslogics Disk and Registry defraggers.
