I am trying to fix my son's friend's system... (Teen involved, need I say more?)

It is an Acer Veriton M275, 2GB Memory, on board graphics and sound, running Win 7 64bit Professional. It was a refurb system, no CDs, sysstem imaged on a hard drive partition.

When booting I am getting a BSOD. When I turn off the auto reboot I get the following error - Stop: 0x0000007e (ox859e6610, 0x8a991f770, 0x8a91f350)

I can not boot into safe mode, but I can get to a command prompt.

So far I have tried replacing the RAM, changing the power supply, reinstalling from the factory image from the partition on the hard drive. (there were no available restore points whenn I began) - No of the above has helped.

When booting into safe mode the crash happens right after classup.sys loads.

I have tried to upload a zip of the memory.dmp file but I rec a 404 error on upload

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Nice description

First if you cant upload the DMP file to us directly you can upload the zipped file to a sharing service like reapidshare, and put the link to it here. We can and will find it

Second 2 gigs of ram with 64bit is the absolute minimum and contributes (but does not cause I suspect) the problem.

I suspect the problem is software but cant know until we get the dmp. this is the generic message for your error code

If you are not equipped to debug this problem, you should use some basic troubleshooting techniques.

  • Make sure you have enough disk space.
  • If a driver is identified in the bug check message, disable the driver or check with the manufacturer for driver updates.
  • Try changing video adapters.
  • Check with your hardware vendor for any BIOS updates.
  • Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing.

Let us know if you need help

We want MiniDumps - not Kernel Memory Dumps. Do these procedures.
To ensure minidumps are enabled:
** Until a .dmp file is generated, the Minidump folder may not exist.**

*Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl Press Enter.
*Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery... Settings.
*Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.
*Under the Write Debugging Information header select Small memory dump (256 kb) in the drop down box.
*Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as%systemroot%\Minidump.
*OK.
Reboot if changes have been made.
