GRRRRR. I had just composed a lenghtly message about my crashes and went to save it through notepad and I had another crash. It happens I think exclusively when browsing folders through windows explorer including network computers.
I have a complicated custom system that makes things tricky
Core i7 965 NOT overclocked
12 gb Corsair dominator 1600
4 TB seagates in 1+0 with 2 more TB as extra drives
Evga Nvidia 295
Primary Monitor NEC 2560x1600
Secondary Monitor Sharp Aquos 1600 x 1080 (or something like that)
Enermax 1050W
Noctua cooler with twin 120mm fans
with an additional 3 Corsair Dominator cooler memory fans
3 case fans, two on the pwr supply, and the Nvidia one for a total of 11 WITH a floor Vornado blowing at the front of the case. Temps run ~45-50 C.
Remote Readynas Pro Server
Win 7 Ultimate sig ED 64 bit
Office Ultmate
Mindjet
Raidar for Netgear server
Norton 2010 Internet Security.
I've run mem test- passed, I've upgraded all drivers that I can think of- first through ASUS then from individual vendors (Marvell Yukon gigabit ethernet was more current through them). I've updated all software with recommended revisions. I dloaded the debugger and the symbols but haven't figured it out yet.
The repeated crashes took out a Seagate from my raid that I replaced (as well as a planned pwr supply upgrade 850 thermaltake to 1050 enermax. The raid is being rebuilt. I thought that may have been the issue or the Lan drivers- but I've had more crashes subsequently.
I'll try to upload a few of the Minidumps.
Please Help- This has cost me a couple of days and I had to cancel my Windows 7 House party. Several of the invitees are Mac users and there's nothing worse than a righteous Mac Fanboy. They are telling me to "Drink the Apple Juice!"
