BSOD after defragmentation

I have an OEM build of Windows 7 x64 installed and after performing a defragmentation overnight using Ashampoo WinOptimizer 9 I woke up to find that my computer had recovered from an unexpected shutdown (Stop error).

I have followed the directions in the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions thread and you should find the file attached.

My system spec is: Intel Core i7 (Quad core w/ Hyper threading (8 logical cores in total), 1.6GHz with turbo to 2.8 GHz), 4GB of DDR3 RAM installed, nVidia GeForce GT 330M 1GB dedicated graphics card, 750Gb HDD partitioned with a 585 GB main partition and the rest in a recovery partition. I also have an image backup on an external 1TB HDD that includes both partitions.

Would anyone be able to shed a bit of light into this?

3B/D1 bugchecks, lists the probably caused fault as fltmgr.sys (Microsoft Filesystem Filter Manager). This was most likely not the cause of the crash itself, but something caused that specific driver to crash.

The process it has listed the caused the crash in one dump was ekrn.exe, which is part of the ESET NOD process/kernal. Please disable or uninstall NOD32 as your anti virus and report back. Temporarily I recommend installing Microsoft Security Essentials for diagnostic purposes.

Also, after taking a look at your drivers list, you have a bunch of Avast drivers listed. Do note that Avast is known for causing issues in Windows 7, and running multiple anti virus / anti malware programs at the same time is never recommended.

Out of date driver(s) that need update:

vcsvad.sys - Sun Nov 16 04:51:18 2008 (Avnex Ltd. Virtual Audio Device). Update here.

Odd... I removed Norton security via add/remove programs as soon as I got the system... I am using Avast full-time and Norton should not be running... I'll have to remove the files manually...

I can't seem to find the process in task manager... Even when processes from all users are shown. I also cannot find the file named on my hard drive. My system is passing the blame to something that does not exist...

Also: I am using the free antivirus from Avast along with ZoneAlarm firewall and Threatfire. I haven't had a problem with that setup until the one that started this thread.
