This dump has a fix suggestion of uninstalling the catalyst Control Centreand run the graphics on the manufacturers driver only. Now unfortunately as peralways the driver comes with CCC from ATi http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop?os=Windows+7+-+64and I shall have to try and hunt down the machines drivers for the right one.

Now depending on why you installed the latest driver for the graphics I would be inclined to do a system restore to a date before you did that and just see what happens.
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/700-system-restore.html if you do not get a result of a restore point before that date then there is a little box in that screen that will allow points further back - if you haven't wiped them;)

Wow!! that's a bummer - have you got or done an image prior to that date??

Look let me chase down that HP site and while I am thinking of it I see you have AVG and I am not a fan of it and for many years after I first started computing and used it first up because it came with the computer I subscribed to it BIG mistake - the wretch of a thing caused me no end of problems and it still does for some and just maybe contributes to your issue.

Now there are tons of freebies if you are strapped for cash and I can link you to a site for those - but I personally have run Kaspersky ISS for around $0.07 a day on my now five machines for five years now and the freebie one on the Android;)

Back again now the nearest I can find is this for the graphics driver open up the graphics in this it might work it might not or just tell you it is the wrong model.

While I am thinking of it can you check again the model number usually a sticker on the bottom or you can use this

Using HW Info

PART A:

You can test the volts onthe PSU with HW Info HWiNFO,HWiNFO32/64 - Download <download the right bit version and close the right hand window select Sensorsand scroll down to the power section where you will see what the volts aredoing see my pic. In my pic the section (Nuvoton)with VBATT is a dead give away you are in the section for the rail voltages. There are other section titles and one that pops up often is ITE

Now the voltage on thedifferent rails have to be within 5% =+/- of what is required or the machinewill not work properly if at all.

See this for the railvoltage info

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/power-supply-specifications-atx-reference,3061.html (Section 2.)

The original right handwindow shows the machine running and is handy for that but for looking at thecomponents in some detail close it and use the main left hand side panel

FOR OTHER COMPONENTS

PART B:

Open each small squarewith + in it on the section the components are in and then click on theindividual component/s (it willhighlight in blue) - in the right hand side will appear all sorts of detailsincluding brands speeds and other essential info that particular device. Seepic for example.
Use PART B: see my pic and if you like you can check the battery state out too while you are at it use PART A: for that and again see my pic - oh the pic is of someone elses battery condition and is pretty pathetic so it will be interesting to see what you have got because power is all important on a machine.

again no image
but i think there is a conflict between the intel and ati drivers as you may know my laptop has 2 vgas.
i dont know what to do really.....im stuck in two situations either BSOD or Black screen on start up?

Are you only downloading the combined AMD/Intel driver?

The one below it, (Intel) actually enables the use of the Intel graphics,

I believe it uses the Intel as a default and switches to AMD when more intensive operation is needed.

So that may be the cause of the black screen, worth trying anyway. Installing the Intel driver below the AMD driver as well.

Well my Googles have come up with everything but that number for a model. I was just curious re any numbers on the bottom sticker that might have said otherwise.

However Derek has got some stuff there that should throw up something.;)

Hmm well if Dereks links did not do much then seems a bit useless tracking down the site again.

Now to save searching all the way back did I ask you if you have the data backed up because I think clean install might go better than going round the houses like this .

I have just seen a good option in another thread if you have no media take a look at these if you think you might do that.
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1649-clean-install-windows-7-a.html &

Download Windows 7 ISOs, Legally and for Free | PCsteps.com

Free ISO Burner that way it will avoid the bloatware from HP - a big plus.

Always this too read the section 1 thoroughly

Got to go offline now as the bandwidth is that slow it is painful and it is bedtime ;)

Darn it knew I had to say something else if you do use the old drive to install on make sure you do a thorough clean all on it first I use DISKKPART but there are other programs
