Try seatools for windows.Running another chksdk process (because I haven't been able to get WinDFT to detect the hard disk yet). Currently, it's in stage 3, and I found out it's not slow all the time; there's just parts where it goes 1.5 files per second, and then it goes as fast as it normally would.
You can boot in normal mode! Do #97The installer doesn't seem to want to load in Safe Mode. The Windows Installer window pops up, disappears after not even a second, and there's no disk activity to suggest the installer is even loading.
Make a backup of everything as soon as possible. Eventually only drag/drop documentsChkdsk finished; no errors detected.
...Until I restarted to do the backup again. Now I'm stuck at the initialisation screen with an "AHCI Port 0 Device Error" message that brings me to the BIOS menu.

xcopy c:\users [g:\roughbackup] [/E] [/K] [/O] [/J]
What OS is booting from dongle? Even xcopy will hang!! It doens't skip the bad sectorsAlright, used the installation dongle to boot up, so I'll try using the command prompt as a backup proxy.
Code:xcopy c:\users [g:\roughbackup] [/E] [/K] [/O] [/J]
Any advice?
