BSOD after shut down/restart

if you are talking about the Windows USB/DVD tool, yes it works with Windows 7/8/8.1/and windows 10. That's all I've tried it on. It will also burn it to a DVD for you too, but I've never done that. My computer does not have a DVD drive.

Just upgraded to 8.1 and the issues is gone. Now should I update my drives?

If you are asking if you should install your Motherboard drivers, you can try it through Windows Update or install them yourself from the Asus Web Site. Go to Device Manager and see if you have any icons with a yellow triangle on them. If you do Update those drivers for sure. I think I would install the Chipset Drivers and the Graphics card driver anyway. Just be sure they are for Windows 8.1.
