BSOD After Upgrading RAM from 2 x2gb to 2x 4gb.

Hello, i recently purchased 8Gb of Corsair Vengeance RAM ( CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9). upon installing this ram in the correct Dimm slots ( 1 and 3) I have been getting BSOD. this can happen once i load up the computer after it guess past the login screen. However after changing the BIOS from the previous setting to manual for example from auto, it works fine and will do so until the next time i reboot my pc.
Here is an attachment of the crashes.

Hope someone knows how to help me

Welcome aboard.

As it is failing, uninstall it. Uninstall Kaspersky using Kaspersky Removal Tool. Use Microsoft Security Essentials as your antivirus with windows inbuilt firewall, and free MBAM as the on demand scanner.
Download and install those, and then run full system scans with both of them, one by one.

Free up the startup. Nothing more is needed there other than the antivirus, MSC in the changed situation.

  1. Click on the Start button
  2. Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
  3. Select the “Startup” tab.
  4. Deselect all items other than the antivirus.
  5. Apply > OK
  6. Accept the restart.
Let us know the results.

Do you mean msconfig that archie was talking about if so enter via safe mode and undo any changes although there should be nothing in the startup tab that will make system unbootable

i just had to switch back to my old ram to run the system. I got blue screen 3 times, the first just after the BIOS startup option display, and the 2nd/3rd being after i had logged in to windows.I meant both sorry should have specified. Ive run mem test, but i hadn't run it for 7 passes. Ill try again tonight

Yes, A RAM error sometimes will show only after 5-6 passes. Follow the tutorial carefully. Don't try to use both new and old RAM together. Make sure the new is supported in your board, that is, the type and frequency.

Verify your BIOS has the correct DRAM settings, it may still be on the old settings.

You'll need to switch RAM parameters to manual to see where the BIOS has them. RAM is likely running a 11-11-11-32 at 1333MHz or possibly 1066MHz.

What is the situation right now?
Is it booting now? Or is it still sticking at logon screen? Follow it:
Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Start
Or, run Startup Repair for three separate times, with restarts after every single run.
Startup Repair: Run three separate times.

Memtest should be run overnight, for at least 8 passes. you must to run it, as suggested.

If there are further crashes, let us see the dumps.

check your screen saver or power manager, as you say it happens after 15+min in idle situation. maybe its the problem with your computer sleeping.
also check for the graphic card driver update

Thats really odd i used the SF diagnostic tool to collect from the latest dump. if it happens a again ill show you

on an update, i found an issue where my bios would sometimes set to manual after it crashed. assuming that it was supposet to be on thouse settings i left it on Manual went into the timing and changed them, however i found that my bios would automatically change them back to auto starting on 5-5-5-11 insted of 9-9-9-24. i changed them using the + and - signs instead of typing the numbers in myself this time. and Windows Experience has auto changed my Ram rating from 7.5- 7.6 the next time i turn it off which should be in an hour. ill leave it off and then get back to you and let you know if the timings were the actual problem. Again thank you for your support
