Quick background - I don't use the system often, but it has important files related to a family corporation that we closed last year. I booted the system in March in order to begin working on the taxes, and received notification that automatic updates were ready to install. I decided to let the updates install before beginning work on the taxes (big mistake ). After the update completed and system rebooted, I received the BSOD. I ran startup repair multiple times with no success. I booted into safe mode (at least that's still working) and attempted system restore - none of the restore points worked. I'm a teacher and simple didn't have the time or energy to mess with it, so we filed an extension and put it on the back burner. Now I'm back and need to get the system running.

Startup repair doesn't work - but did give me diagnosis and repair details. Most everything checked fine except for the following:

Root cause found:
Unknown Bugcheck: Bugcheck c2. Parameters = 0x7, 0x109b, 0x8110006, 0x86cfb5b8

Repair action: System files integrity check and repair
Result: Failed. Error code = 0x490

I'm not as tech savvy as I used to be, but I can follow instructions if anyone can help! TIA :-)

I am not able to run the program to gather the data asked for in the forum instructions because I can’t boot the system.

Finally found a way to force the system into safeboot (the advanced startup options quit appearing even with the F8 button process?) Hoping someone can help now?

It seems the drivers from a device "Sunix PCI Multi I/O Card" causes the crashes, remove the device to boot.
