BSOD and system freeze

Hi Friends,

Need your help in troubleshooting a BSOD. System freezes or gets BSOD pretty occasionally (sometimes...multiple times in a span of minutes).

Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit

It is an assembled system and the hardware is around 1 yr old. This is a fresh installation of Win 7.

Any other information required, please let me know.

Seems to be memory related. Run a RAM test http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/105647-ram-test-memtest86.html
Scan your system with Malwarebytes

Thanks buddy for the follow up.

I ran the RAM test and it reported few errors. It was still going on so i left the computer running at night. In the morning it was switched off and didn't boot.

So some other issue cropped up. Let me fix that one.

Will post the findings of RAM test then.

That is faulty RAM, you should replace it

Hi guys,

Sorry for the late reply.

Well there was a problem with the PSU. Now i got a good one from Corsair.

Finally ran the RAM test with all four sticks (using one (2 GB) at a time) and then with all four inserted. This time there were no errors thrown by Mem test in any of the cases.

I kept the system running for 2 hours or so and there was no BSOD.

But Windows still froze once or twice and i had to push the reset button.

Any clues what could be wrong here ?

Well it probably felt bad about my post

This time when i started the system, after 15 mins it greeted me with BSOD.

After restarting, the Windows froze after entering the username and password.

Then few times it rebooted just before showing the username/password screen.

Finally now it seems to be working and i am making this post.

Please help.

So can i exclude RAM here ? or even RAM could be faulty ?

Otherwise what I understand is that there is something wrong either with the motherboard or with the processor. Right ?

Will run CPU Stress test and post the results here.

If the RAM test shows not errors then your RAM is probably OK
Then it would either be the CPU of motherboard

I ran the CPU stress test for some time...around 15 mins. But then the cores were getting heated up and i aborted the test. It didn't show any errors or warnings.

I used both Speedfan & Realtemp for temperature monitoring.

Well...here we are enjoying summers and room temperature during noon stays around 35 degree C + . The room where this system runs is not air conditioned

Any comments on this ? Or i should run the test for longer duration ?

Also is there a way to find out like what component is faulty ? or only some repair guy would be able to do that ?
