this has happened several times over the past 2-3 days. Each time the bug check string changes, from DRIVER_IRQL... to UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP to BAD_POOL_HEADER, MEMORY_MANAGEMENT, PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA.

I gave up on this machine a few weeks ago and installed win 7 from scratch figuring that would sove the problem, and given that it didnt, Im pretty sure that indicated it's either a driver problem or a hardware problem.

Now so far ive tried...
memtest (ok)
chkdsk (ok)
changed the PSU
uninstalled/reinstalled video card driver, chipset drivers
uninstalled MSE/reinstalled

right now there is almost no software since my clean install apart from IE/MSE/drivers so Im lost what my next step should be.

suggestions appreciated

thanks :)

I suspect this may be a hardware fault especially with the different variety of bug-checks ?

Is this your system here ?

try removing the two 512mb ram sticks and one of the 1gig and see if the system crashes and bluescreens ?

Some of the drivers "panais" refers to are
Code:
VSTBS23.SYS Wed Oct 15 20:30:15 2008 - Conexant modem driver
VSTCNXT3.SYS Wed Oct 15 20:29:13 2008 - Conexant modem driver
VSTDPV3.SYS Wed Oct 15 20:32:04 2008 - Conexant modem driver

My next suspect would be your Hauppauge WinTV HVR-1800 and its associated drivers which windows reports as "This device is not present, is not working properly, or does not have all its drivers installed" ?

Thanks for the replies!

Is this your system here ?

Yes.

Ive gone through that list of drivers Mr. panais posted and some are windows drivers that don't need to be updated ya? (lol me noob) For the sake of simplicity I removed both pieces of hardware in question (modem, Hauppauge WinTV HVR-1800)

Anyhow, I'm now running with a single stick of ram (1gb obv) and haven't had a bsod for an hour....so far so good I guess :)

Here is the updated zip file (just perfmon) if you wanted to take a look>>>>
