Hi all,

So today I turn on my computer and as soon as the windows symbol loaded it will go into blue screen. I've included a picture of the BSOD below:

I tried booting up safe mode and did not work the blue screen just pops up again when it tries to go into log in screen. I tried Startup Repair and that didn't work. I tried using System Restore prompt option from Startup Repair and that didn't work. Whenever Window tries to go to the log in screen it just crash to BSOD.

My Specs:

i5-3570K
EVGA GTX 570
Kingston Hyper X 8GB(2x4)
WD Cavier Black 500GB

I also took out the CMOS battery and unplugged everything. When my computer booted again I selected "Optimized Default then reboot" option. Still it did not work the blue screen appears just before the log in screen.

Can someone please help me?

Post it following the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions.

Dont start a new thread, attach the data in your next post. :)

What is your storage device, and how many devices are there? Is the main disc (containing C drive) a HDD or a SSD?

Edit: WD Cavier Black 500GB

WD does not have a bootable disc check utility. Use Seatools for Dos to test the HDD.

You need to do it, because stop 0xF4's are mostly storage related issue.

Thanks for the advice :) But I just found out my disc drive on my laptop is broken when I tried to burn the ISO file onto a CD :banghead:

Try the USB alternative?

Just did it. I failed the short test and doing the long test now. So far 43 errors and the progress is at 2%.

As it is a WD disc, Seatools for DOS will not be able to attempt a fix to those errors.

What you can do now is an attempt to recover/salvage some data out of the disc. Can you follow it?

If you can, back the data up, externally.

Then change the HDD.

Are there no way to use the hard drive again?
Apparently there is no way, though it is always hard to say the final word about hardware in a remote assistance.

A stop 0xF4 is HDD related. Your computer fails to boot with the HDD connected, and test detects a lot of errors.

So, it can be said that the HDD is corrupt.

A full format may work on it, but cannot be said with certainty.
