Hello,

For a few weeks i have been having BSOD errors blue screens.

When using blue screen viewer it says it's always caused by ntoskrnl.exe , this mostly happens when playing games.

I've also updated BIOS and Nvidia card. I'm running W7 64 bit.

I also attached .zip file as in the posting instructions. Do you need anything else plaese let me know

Kimi75, it seems you have been having problems for quite awhile. The latest dum file lists:

Code:

That is the Intel Rapid Storage technology driver and is the driver for your sata ports. As you can see, it is pretty old and needs to be updated. It can be updated from https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Default.aspx

Also listed is
Code:

Which is your Graphics driver.

Please fill out your System Specs

   Information
Your System Specs will help us to help you, and doing it in this manner will make them available to all helpers in every post and keep us from hunting for them. We ask that you fill them out in as much detail as possible including Desktop or Laptop, Model number if it is an OEM computer and all components with the Manufacturer and Model number if possible.

If you will go to your last post and click the 'System Specs' in the bottom left of the post, you will find a link to update your system specs. Please fill those out in as much detail as possible, making sure to click save at the bottom of the page. If you would like to know what we would like, you can click 'My System Specs' at the bottom left of this post to see mine. If you do not know what your components are, this will help you accomplish this task. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/180324-system-info-see-your-system-specs.html

Also open a elevated command prompt ( click start, type cmd in the search box, right click on the cmd entry and select run as administrator) in the black box that opens, copy/paste sfc /scannow. If you decide to type it, notice the space between the sfc and the /. It is a system file checker which will scan your system files and attempt to correct any missing or corrupt files. What we want are the results to say windows found no integrity violations. If it says files were found but could not be repaired, close the box, reboot and run it again, after opening the administrative command prompt. You may have to reboot and run it three times for it to repair all system files. If it can't repair them after 3 reboots, let us know.

Hi, Windows says that my SATA ports (Intel(R) Desktop/Workstation/Server Express Chipset SATA AHCI Controller
) are currently running with the most recent driver available.. which is the version you highlighted above.

I couldn't find other drivers.

In the meantime I suffered a couple of blue screens :(

I've just found more recent drivers for SATA ports on the motherboard (ASUS) website.

After having updated them I was updating the graphics drivers (NVIDIA) as indicated in the post NVIDA Drivers - avoid problems and I suffered 2 blue screens before installing the new drivers... more or less before and after the Windows reboot.

please see the DM Log collector .zip attached.

Thank you very much

Kimi75, is this a custom built computer or an OEM computer? If it is an OEM, could you please give me the model number.

Kimi75, did you build the computer and install Windows 7 or did you have it built and it came with the OS already installed? The reason I am asking this is because your operating system is not legal. It is an OEM_SLP Key and is only legal on the Acer/HP OEM computer it came installed on and you have it installed on a Retail Motherboard.

more than 2 years ago, I have chosen the configuration and they (an online shop) built and assembled all components. I've also paid for the assembling service and for the installation of W7 as well.... Since 1 year such online store is closed

I've never realized to own an unofficial version. Do you suggest to buy the license ( I suppose yes) and do you think that this will defenitively solve the issue?

Yes, you should get a legal Operating System, but no, I can't say it will solve your problems. What I can say is installations such as yours contain heavily modified code that causes the installation to behave in unexpected ways. Analyzing BSOD's and determining their causes on these sorts of installations is very unreliable. For this reason, many analysts won't attempt it. Once you get a legal copy of Windows, and still have problems, we will be more than happy to help. I may suggest you call Microsoft and explain to them that you bought the computer from a local shop and it came with this copy installed on it. They may be able to help you.

Apparently I've solved the problem in this way:

A) change the ram installed with a new one
B) change the slot in which the RAM Was installed from the second slot to the third
C) update my antivirus avg professional to the 2014 version (I Was running the 2012 version)

I dont know which of the previously helped to solve but the in the last copule of days no blue screen occurred

I've also contacted the Windows customer care in order to solve my issue with w7 license...
